I really would like to see Mett have a big year, then Rivers, then the younger guys can have at it after Rivers.

I think that order would be restored this way....

If Rivers goes off these next few years a narrative and connection will be made to his brother, someone who was also coached up by Coach Cam.

There is gold in that story that would actually have the potential to put LSU on top of the Elite QB scene for as long as Coach Cam remains here...

Rivers is the golden egg, he is the Key to LSU being able to recruit any QB, elite or not, in the nation...

Sorry guys, Freudian Slip

ADD is everywhere. I love it when people don't read the whole story....

Rivers will never start a game, unless it's due to Injuries..

It would be a good narrative. I just don't know if Rivers has progressed enough. Hard to tell with the limited info we get from LSU practices. I also worry about Jennings taking the reins his second year in the program (even if he got here for the spring semester). I like a QB that has been in the program long enough to be seasoned.

Rivers looked VERY good in the 2nd half of the spring game. Overall, imho, this is as strong as we've been at QB since 2006.

Agree on Rivers. I thought Jennings looked good, but Rivers impressed....

Know of any place where we can see highlights of his 2nd half performance? All I've seen is 1st half with Mett and Jennings.

Will never be starting QB at LSU, IMO.

AJ is already passing him up and technically should still be in HS.

his mobility was better than I thought it would be, and his arm didn't look bad, but the defense he was going against was 3rd stringers and walk-ons...so grain of salt there.

Given Rivers apparent football IQ, he could develop kind of a Weurful/Spurrier relationship with Cam, not great physical skills but tremendous execution. However, I think what Jennings brings to the table (assuming he continues to develop) may be too much for Rivers to overcome.

we know that all things being equal Rivers will sit one more year. seeing as this is Mett's last year. That gives Rivers a full year with Coach Cam. I think that if Coach Cam can pull him forward he will shine. IMO, Rivers has name recognition that would appeal to any young recruit caught on the fence about coming here to play

I think that Jennings needs to sit and learn, there is no need for him right now. I would hate for him to play too soon and lose his confidence.

Cam will shine and polish Jennings up then allow him to tear up the league.

Won't help his chances at playing time AT ALL.

Interesting narratives due to famous brothers in the NFL aren't what earns you the starting job. Anthony Jennings seems to be more accurate and has better mobility. He is also taking up the playbook VERY quickly.

Not a bash on Rivers, its a compliment to AJ.
