He literally just went head to head. He’s got Texas, bama, Georgia. Then since bama beat state who beat mizzou he’s got them next. Since mizzou beat Florida he’s got them next. Then ole Miss and LSU for the same reason.

I honestly wish there were no rankings until Week 9. At that point everyone has a better gauge of where teams stand based off of wins/losses, and competition.

Starting the year with a pre-season poll makes absolutely 0 sense when it comes to the actual rankings. It’s all just a way to build intrigue, sell tickets, and garner viewers. A nice “Top 10 matchup” is fun in week 2 or 3, but the rankings make no sense when there’s nothing to base the rankings off of.

It drives me INSANE!

All the more reason to use a formula based system. Keep the subjectiveness and fan bias out of it.

Ohio State is mad that they haven’t beaten us since the 80’s

He had Ohio State at #6, they beat a team he had in the top 5 on the road, and he has Bama jump them.

If this is true he needs to lose his vote.

So many other factors that he must be too lazy to research.

The Saragin Ratings are the best, most accurate

Didn’t they have lsu ranked 2 or 3 to finish the year in 2019?

Growing up, the newspaper always had the AP and Coaches polls and the Sagarin Poll all together in the sports section every week, and as a kid I loved getting to see how strength of schedule affected his ratings vs those of the AP and Coaches poll.

When we accepted the national championship trophies in Tiger stadium after the 2003 season (awards ceremony) the AP had to come and present the coach of the year award to Nick Saban.
And we booed her off the stage. It was so satisfying.

Let’s be honest. Sports writers in NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, etc. could care less about college sports. They barely cover it and usually with an AP story or written from an SID. They cover pro sports and international sports.
We don’t care that much for pro sports. Just a fact of life.
