When you have no clue what your assignments are...you’re definitely gonna look slow. It’s like when you’re not prepared at all for a multiple choice test and half way through you just start filling in A for all the answers.

Hopefully its not something internal like dislike for the scheme or the coach. And this doesn't go to the extreme like a Dinardo/Tepper thing where coach O is too friendly with Pelini to make any changes if he sees its not working.
