Actually, when we started running it with Ford, we started picking up huge chunks of yards.

So we are saying that in year three at each of his stops, Gary Crowton just forgets how to coach? There has got to be more to it than that.

Without reading the thread, I'd give Haley an A.

He's be our ace recruiter the past two seasons and the DL is coming along very nicely.

This could happen even with GC and I sure hope it does!

BT makes me thankful I don't deal with people like him irl. I have asked him questions but he avoids them. I think he knows if he answers he will have to face reality that GC is the root of the problem.

Well it is rather silly.

He defends crowton.

And then says JJ sucks.

But yet crowton is the one who has him out there playing.

At any point in the game, crowton could bench him. But he doesn't.

Yet, he still defends crowton despite him playing the qb that's not to his liking over the other qb who is.

Rather weird.

It's actually year two.

Which, not surprisingly, is the year when an OC's offense is fully installed.

If Crowton knew how to coach, he could teach Jefferson how to properly run the option. But obviously, Crowton hasn't got a clue. And if its so obvious Jefferson struggles at the option, then Crowton can...ya know....STOP frickING CALLING IT.

You are how you practice. The offense is too piss poor as a whole to put the blame on one player. We have excellent WRs, and a 1000 yard rusher. You mean to tell me Crowton still couldn't come up with a better passing game then dead last in the SEC? Even with poor QB play, LSU should never be dead last in that category. Sorry, but Crowton is the problem, any good coach can find ways to make the offense effective with Jefferson or Lee. I don't understand how LSU fans can defend Crowton after how far the offense has fallen.

ETA: And Crowton is still starting JJ.

By defending Crowton, BT is defending crowtons decision to keep starting JJ.

Its quite the conundrum.

That doesn't change anything. You still can't blame Jimbo because Randall occasionally hit the ground. You're reaching with "Jimbo recruited him and had him starting".

Couldn't he have pulled him at any time?

I don't know. Nick may have had some control over that. Don't know that Jimbo had autonomy over personnel decisions with offensive players in the games.

This is part of the problem I have with Crowton. With JL the option is not utilized but he forces JJ to run it when he obviously isn't comfortable running it. To me that is putting a player in position to fail or bad coaching!

You'll never hear the pro-Crowton crowd explain why Lee runs the option the exact same way as Jefferson.

I guess they both are unteachable. That's the only reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from that scenario.

Like in 2008

3rd and 15 for jarrett lee..

Knowing lee had struggled with the middle of the field throws..

What did crowton keep calling?

Middle of the field play calls
Or plays to the flats

7 pick sixes in 8 games later JJ is starting.

Are we talking about Marcus Randall?

He was force into duty after Mauck got hurt in 2002.

He split snaps with a RS Freshman in 2004.

It isn't like there were a whole lot of options on the table.

Which he now refuses to call despite the fact that they worked this season.
