Charles is incumbent, and it seems he will get the chance to show significant improvement.

The Rosenthal & Wire should make a run. (Looks like Ray Parker, who would otherwise IMO have the best fit possibility, is sticking to his TE emphasis).

They (Rosenthal & Wire) both seem more athletic & quick, so it should be interesting.

Oline experts: What say you in predicting what will happen by the time SEC prime time comes around?

Traore and Charles. Im not comfortable with Traore but i feel he is probably better than Deculus at least for now.

I didn’t think rosenthal or wire looked good at all in the spring game so someone needs to make the jump. My bet is traore or deculus will be starting all year.

They will be eaten by the DEs in the SEC.

Agreed. Lets hope what Aranda said wasn’t just coach talk and the scheme actually does make it hard to touch the QB.

Honestly I stay very involved in the team and I was an all state 4a right tackle and I still don't pay enough attention to our line individually. I can't imagine picking up on them without watching the games over again since people tend to watch the skill players.

Bravo. You guys keep your eyes open. All I know is our blocking makes me sick every year

Neither of them are very reliable pass blockers - I’m much more concerned with the right side than with Charles.

I'm hearing Traore has gotten better and is much improved than last year. Hope his light comes on for us, this guy is huge.

He's got little thin, stringy, calves. They look like they could snap just walking. I can't imagine them holding up to a brutal SEC schedule.

RPO offense makes it hard to sack Quarterback. Not a lot of drop back in the pocket stuff

Generally the guy who lost a two way battle is better than the guy who beat him, so yeah.

I heard Giles was unstoppable and Hal Hughes was the best hitter in fall ball.

Honestly the LT depth chart should be Charles followed by Deculus and then either Magee or Traore as I doubt the coaches are ready to throw Dare or Wire out there. Deculus looked much more comfortable on the left side so I would make him the primary backup. It’s far from ideal but that’s what we’ve got to work with. I would love for someone to step up at RT so we can make Deculus the full time LG where I’m confident he would shine at.

I agree with some of your points.

Deculus definitely plays better on the left side and would probably be a quality starting LG if he was put there.

Unfortunately you are right again in that it appears that the younger guys just are not ready yet so Dec stays at RT and Charles stays at LT.

Jimmy Details said the staff thinks Bradford the freshman will be battling for that spot. They think he could be a 3 or 4 year starter.

I think Adrian Magee is our best option at right tackle...we dont need to have a superstar at every position ...just solid guys

Wire is not ready and needs more time.

Rosenthal needs to step up, but he needs more time too honestly.

Hopefully Charles has a better year, locks it down, and Dare can be worked in here and there as he develops.

It’s hard to “work” o-linemen into playing condition. That group is all about chemistry so you want to keep the same 5 guys on the field as much as possible if you can. Linemen are usually ready or they aren’t. Dare certainly has the look of an all American LT, now they just have to get him playing like it.
