But he's not driving in runs; Brown, Curiel, Dardar. Carraway, Arrambide, Milam, and Serna have more RBIs than he does.

He gets on base…where do you think runs come from?

3 of those 4 have more at bats than him, so id expect that.

Its kind of a skill, my point

I just wonder if maybe he should be in a run-scoring spot in the lineup, though I am not sure where that would be, TBH. Drop him to 8th so you get him, then Stanny, maybe both getting on base for the top of the lineup?

He hit 7th yesterday, thats not a bad spot. Batting him 1st wouldnt be a bad spot either

I think Yorke hitting 8th is the move. Let the top of the lineup bring him in for a run. His attributes do not play where he’s hitting in the lineup currently.

yorke has gotten on base at a better rate than curiel or milam so far this year

I’m not disagreeing. Yorke has gotten on base. The point is Yorke and Dardar need to hit or get on base. The two of them have struggled at the plate lately. Now both have done well drawing walks but they have gotten into a slump. Maybe I should clarified that Dardar and Yorke needed to get back to their production at the start of the season.

The point is for this team to get where they want to be those 2 are key and the have been struggling at the plate lately.

But the difference in PAs is less than 7 for all of them except Arrambide, who has the fewest. It's not a knock against Yorke, just data. He belongs in the lineup, IMO. I think it's a matter of time before he gets in a groove again.

Kinda my point, too. Those are undervalued to the casual fan. The only caveat is that Yorke was brought in with the idea that he would provide run-driving ability. Which he did early, and I think he will again. I also missed that Millam (8) has more HBP than Yorke (7). Kind of Ironic that the biggest and smallest targets have been hit by pitches the most

I’m not completely against this either but for me and my simplistic thought on baseball, the one hole lead off needs to be a bat to ball guy. He needs to set the tone early and often.

We really just need Yorke and Dardar to start hitting or getting on base.

Yorke is getting on base more than any starter not named Jake

Yorke is so puzzling to me. He hit .368 his freshman year, .285 his sophomore year, and .339 last year. He obviously still has good ABs given his struggles at the plate and his still very good OB%. His OB% is actually higher this year than it was last year when he hit .339. And it's not just a matter of "well he's in the SEC now." His struggles began when he was playing at the same level of competition he'd been playing for 3 years. And if you even look at what he's done against P4 teams it continues to not make sense

2025:
Vandy: 1/4 w/ a HR
Nebraska: 1/3
Rutgers: 4/9
Texas Tech: 4/8
Oregon: 4/7
Oregon St: 1/8
Arizona St: 1/4
BYU: 1/4 w/ a HR
Arizona: 3/4 wi/ 2 HRs
Stanford: 3/13 w/ 3 HRs

So in total, last year he hit 23/64 (.359) and 5 HRs against P4 pitchers
