as long as they show what they showed me in 05,06, and 07 when they refused to give up.

Charles Scott was just on the radio saying 09's biggest problem was the run game. They changed from 2 back to a 1 back set and he said players along with himself just didnt adjust and in the games when we did get in a rhythm we did well in.
He also went on to say with Ridley, Murphy, Toliver, Shep, and jordan that they have the firepower to do whatever they want on the field.

What's our situation at fullback?

JJ and the O-line both had their good moments last year, but they both had problems as well and consequently made each other worse. Add that with no real fullback to speak of, and you get the 112 ranked offense.
JJ limited playbook made the offense more predictable on passing downs. The O-line's run blocking was terrible putting JJ in tough down and distance situations. It was a vicious cycle. He often held onto the ball to long making the O-line look worse. Still, other times when he had open receivers to get the ball to, he wasn't given enough time to look past the first receiver.
Also, the O-line did a terrible job of picking up blitzs. Still D-coordinators knew when they could blitz because our play calling was so predictable partly because of the limited playbook to help JJ.

Ransom, You make too much sense for many here. But, in spite of that, I agree totally!

Good question. Can't be good if we keep converting OLs and LBs. I do hear really good things about that incoming FR Worle, though. However, these were the same kind of things we were hearing about Allen last year as well. One good thing though, is that FB is probably not too hard a position to pick up mentally, as long as you are physically ready to play.
I do also think that with a bigger and better offensive line and faster/shiftier backs, we might be able to get away with running the 1-back set this year. The running game might not be as good as it would be with a Quinn Johnson at FB, but maybe the extra TE/WR could make up for it in overall production.

in the spring every team looks like they're gonna dominate. heard the same shite last year and during the summer. i'll wait to see the actual on the field product before i get excited.

I am encouraged about the reports on aggression, but I will be more excited when I see a well prepared, well disciplined team.

Still up in the air at this point. Allen was way overweight last year but reports are that he's dropped a few lbs and he's probably in the lead by default. Not sure what to expect from Theriot. Stampley and Parsons filled in corageously but are not a permanent solution. Worle will come in and compete for sure. He's much leaner and will not come in out of shape like Allen. I guess my answer is that we won't know til next year probably

the debate about the offense gets better every time. If you take all the teams last year that had a worse offense than LSU you still don't have enough to form a league. The question isn't which facet was the worst, or the root cause, the question is whether or not any of them can improve enough to make it better. At 112th in the country, D1 (or FBS) credibility is in question - not even worth talking about SEC caliber this or championship football that. Somehow they got 9 wins, but man that was ugly! Everyone needs to get better.

3) JJ looks OK, not great, but OK.
JJ doesn't need to be spectacular or even be a great leader. Just needs to move the chains. Thats all. Move the chains and keep some drives alive. OK is fine with me. LSU won two NC's with OK QB's.

He didnt single handedly lose any games last year, but he didnt win any either. A good SEC qb should be able to win a few now and then.
