What difference does it make? He's on an NFL roster. I'd say that the coaches there see him as being a valuable player. He has a super bowl ring too
exactly.
he was drafted by the most successful nfl coach in history but yeah Ben doesnt think he should be labeled a nfl qb

Any poll that has Jimbo Fisher as the 3rd best coach in America is a crap poll.
Gus stood out first to me, but you are definitely correct.

I don't have a problem with him being labeled as an NFL QB. I have a problem with you throwing him up in people's face as the example that you're doing. He's never played in a game and maybe doesn't even get to dress out yet you throw him out there. It's unfair to Etling.

You'd figure if Jimbo was so bad we could've beat him in his first year with his team.
we did .. the 13th man got us.

What makes it even funnier is 2018 Burrow and 2017 Etling aren’t all that different.
Posted on 6/14/19 at 6:53 am to tandrews37
Burrow is a much better QB than Etling.

Burrow made plays both running and passing. With Etling we definitely do not win the Auburn game. Probably lose at least one other game.

He also inherited more kickers than linebackers
rant created bullshite myth
quote:
Ed Orgeron and Dave Aranda were on a recruiting trip late last fall when LSU’s defensive coordinator turned to the head coach.
“Do you know,” he started, “that we have more kickers on scholarship than inside linebackers?”
“Shhh!” Orgeron replied. “Don’t tell anyone that, Dave!”
Eight months and a signing class later, LSU’s inside linebacker situation is much improved. First off, the program now has more inside linebackers on scholarship (five) than kickers and punters (three).
quote:
That wasn’t the case in March and April. It was an exhausting spring for White and Alexander, the only two scholarship inside linebackers Aranda had. The situation was so dire that a pair of walk-ons, Layton Garnett and Jonathan Rucker, received some first-string snaps, and coaches moved Michael Divinity from outside to an inside linebacker spot to supply depth.
“Thank goodness for the walk-ons we had,” Aranda said in May. “They were our 2s and subbed in a lot of times with our 1s.”
It’s not a Rant-created myth.

They are positioning the lemmings for preseason poll interest to drive ratings. Fairly transparent.

Because Aranda specifically said INSIDE linebackers, not “linebackers”.

So two ILBs on the roster is OK?

It is until the negas can use them to bash Ed.

Orgeron flipped Phillips in January and landed Taylor in February. If not for that, LSU would’ve had three scholarship ILB in 2017.

Miles left a decent roster for 2017. He left almost nothing offensively for beyond that season.

You’re right, especially since there is no such thing as a 54 man roster.
Wow you got me.
So he isn’t on the active roster.

You’re now moving the goalposts. “There were more kickers than linebackers” is a lie. “There were more kickers than inside linebackers” is not. Was ILB a problem for the LSU defense? Was the inside linebacker depth the reason LSU didn’t compete for the SEC in 2017 and 2018?

He's 1 of 3 on this list that's won it all, and he won it all without paying coordinators. I'm not sure if he's 3 or not, but he certainly deserves to be considered 3. I'd also agree that we'll see what he has not that he does have a budget to pay OC and DC, and not that he's playing against the big boys.
