Also possible that the HS coach (now the Maryland RB coach) provided the NCAA all the particulars... and they don't match the "facts" submitted to the NCAA by OSU's compliance dept.
No verification of this. But this is what has been floating around some OSU boards.

What's wrong with Ryan Day? Great x and o coach, master motivator and recruiter, and well respected by all his peers, in the pros and in college. Good character on top of that as there never has been a complaint about him. Meyer even said he was the best arse't he ever had, and that list includes Tom Herman, Dan Mullen and a multitude of other successful coaches.
