“I was at the Sunday game in Starkville and the game tonight. Tonight’s crowd was much, much rowdier. There’s nothing to compare it to, really. Even Baum in a regional doesn’t come close.
Don’t get me wrong, DNF is a tough place to play. But a lot of the fans there are in the outfield so they don’t impact the game as much. If you watch a State game, the grandstands often have quite a few empty seats. That isn’t the case at LSU. Their fans are right there in front of you and are very vocal.”

Still some magic left in the BOX.."......

Yes LSU is an elite college baseball program. You will not find another college team with a better fan base.

State played USM in February. Of course the atmosphere wasn’t as good as a regional game.

The crowd was great tonight. Let’s keep up the intensity and energy for tomorrow night! Let’s make the atmosphere like the atmosphere was at the Old Box!

You are comparing State on a Sunday afternoon, non-conference game to a Saturday night regional game at LSU? Apples and bowling bowls. The two scenarios are not comparable. State fans can and do bring it, even when they are bad during the regular season, and there were no empty seats there tonight.

Do we really need a USM fan's perspective on this? Getting their opinion on loud, raucous crowds is like getting Stevie Wonder's opinion on purple.

You really are comparing a sunday afternoon baseball game to a Saturday night regional game. Sunday games are pretty much never really that into even at LSU

That would have been me.

Alex Box definitely lived up to the hype. I get that you can’t compare a regional to a Sunday game, but I can’t imagine there’s a better atmosphere than what I saw tonight.

Hate we couldn’t get the win, but it was a fun college baseball game. There was about 15% of me that thought we’d pull it out after the grand slam.

USM does have top 15 attendance in baseball. It’s not on the level of LSU or some of the other elite SEC programs. But we do draw well.
