Ran into some guys at Lauberge last night who were living in town working on the stadium. All of them were fans of another SEC school because they were from Birmingham Alabama where their company, Brasfield and Gorrie is based out of. They told me several of them have dropped in items representing their school, into the concrete slabs and/or pillars as they have been poured.
I am not a big believer in luck or bad mojo or whatever, but this did bother me. I found it disgraceful to a place I grew up in and consider sacred. I know everything is all about money and bids but damn, the company building our stadium had to be from Bham.
Am I crazy or does this bother anyone else?

Employees do this all the time. Don't worry about it. All they did was lose their items.

Did you ask them how pathetic they felt that they couldn't make a living working in their own state?

B&G are based in B'ham, but they are very good GCs. They did the work at BDS, the Georgia Dome, Georgia Aquarium, Univ. of Florida's gymnastic's facility, etc etc. I promise you that there was Auburn memorabilia put in the concert work at BDS. Prolly LSU stuff too. Nothing to see here or get upset about.

B&G is one of the nations biggest GC.

Lol, I did actually. I told them I loved how our economy was paying them for their work and then they were right back in the casino giving it back. I hope they enjoy living out of state for years at a time because their home state economy can't support them.

Seriously? Tiger Stadium is just one of dozens of major jobs they have around the southeast. They do the majority of UAB' hospital and university work. They built the new Regions Park downtown (which is awesome) We are fortunate to have them doing the work, IMO. The home state support comment is just stupid.

Really, and dropping various items from opposing teams inside the structure isn't?

If anything it shows that LSU is in their heads.

It's normal for that type of thing to happen in construction. If a La based GC did work at BDS, the same thing would've happened. B&G has done major projects for UA, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, UNC. They built the LSU Business Education Complex too. Hotels, museums, work for NASA in Huntsville...etc. I doubt we are "in their heads." If anything, why couldn't a LA based GC win the bid? We got the best GC for the job.
