How does it feel like the score looks better than we played at the same time we should have at least 2 more TDs?

we somehow manage to make every game we play harder on ourselves than it should be

Something’s wrong with nuss

He’s totally different now

I've been saying this all year, but somehow Nussmeier's play last year has been glorified here and the idea of it has taken on a life of its own. He's playing the same this year as he was last year.

If you watch highlights of SEC games last year you'll see Nuss stepping and falling backwards away from pressure often rather than stepping up into the pocket. He also has a habit of using all upper body to make throws rather than stepping towards the receiver that hes attempting to pass the ball to. He under throws deep balls routinely. He seems to throw the ball best over the middle because his feet rarely get turned and he steps into the throw.

Last year his completion percentage was slightly worse than it is currently this season. He threw for just over 4k yards on 525 attempts. Had 12 ints and several games with multiple turnovers during SEC play.

The highlights of the Ole Miss game in 2024 prior to the final drive and OT were abysmal. The Texas A&M game was even worse because they lost. Alabama shouldn't even be mentioned. Even the South Carolina game in 2024 was very mediocre. Nuss nearly threw a game losing pick 6 along with his other interception if not for the penalty behind the play. He threw for 300 yards against USC West and lost the game with a late pick. His big games were against UCLA and South Alabama but he had 2 picks against South Alabama. Against Arkansas he threw for 233 yards, 0 TDs and 0 ints. Vanderbilt he threw for 332 yds and 1 TD.

So he threw the ball a lot, was able to pick up decent yardage, but struggled finishing drives and turned the ball over a lot. Its exactly what he is now. His big games came against group of 5 opponents (South Alabama and Louisiana Tech I guess), UCLA who went 5-7, and Baylor who went 8-5 in the Big 12.

Nuss was an average to below average QB in 2024 who led LSU to the Texas Bowl. He had hype this year because people expected him to make a jump as a second year starter (5th year senior) and lead a roster with more talent in the wide receiver group. He just hasn't improved significantly like Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels in their second year starting. It's easy to see that he didnt put in the same amount of work as those two during the off-season.

Green said “we kind of showed what we were.” That’s good and bad.

He definitely did.

Outstanding prediction in the end.

In Nuss defense his receivers are mid

I'm not saying Nuss is great but if he has Malik or Chase he'd look a lot better

I loved watching Dalton Hilliard and Garry James! You always knew they would get the job done. "The Dalton and James Gang!"

lol. He underthrows a ball to Hilton which totally should have been caught. After he throws 2 garbage passes. Limps his way to a win.

Nuss did not suck. A lot of so-called wr had passes to their hands they did not catch.

The D looked less than than what we'd expect

It's a W and I'm happy. O line is still the problem without a solution.

Au contraire mon frere. Nuss sucked mightily, with at least three, maybe four, maybe more unforced errors. That being said, he hit Hilton with a perfect pass in the redzone which the receiver made just a feeble attempt to catch. It was pathetic
