I think we can all agree that last night's game was pretty much a soup sandwich from top to bottom. JJ didn't look spectacular for the most part, but I don't see how anyone doesn't see the potential in the kid. I understand he's not Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, or whomever. I do think that with a decent system around him and a little more seasoning and confidence that he can be better than Matt Flynn, Jevan Snead, and a few other good, but not great QBs that we've seen in this conference. Hell, he might even be great. Let's consider what he's contending against: We have absolute crap for an O-line (call me on bashing the players all you want, that's just a fact). We have shoddy play calling from a seemingly disinterested coaching staff. We play some of the stingiest defenses in college football. And, oh yeah, he was visibly injured last night.

I'd sooner get rid of half the staff than try to cycle through another quarterback. This kid will be ready to do good things next year if the staff takes care of him and the frickin line learns to block consistently.

I thought JJJ made a number of excellent passes. When Crowton rolls him out, he does very well.

Not sure he holds the ball too long or the O line doesn't give him enuf time (ok, it's one one time, another the other).

He zipped some balls to Lafell that were dropped.

I'm comfy w/ JJJ being our QB the next two years.

More so than LSU's coaches in the last 1 minute of either half of any game.

JJ is the least of my concerns.

Jj isn't the problem. I just crowton has fricked up his psyche like he did with lee.

Very poorly coached, low football IQ, throws off his back foot and has terrible mechanics. VERY slow release.

JJ holds the ball to long at times, but i think he is trying to make a play. I don't know what to think of the o-line. we can't run, we don't pass protect very well, coaching? Don't know. I think JJ can do a good job, he is hurt and you could tell he was holding back on running and going down quick if he did.

He has a long way to go to be as good as MF. MF made some mistakes but also made great plays, right now I just see mistakes.

he's not a very smart qb, i'm not saying he's dumb, but football iq isnt there..... just cant take sacks that he does, and did.

but he's young experience could fix this.....

I think JJ has potential to be a very good QB. The difference between him and JL is huge. Experience and (good) coaching will make the difference. Now, we need a backup.

JJ is fine.

A lot of his sacks are products of bad play calls by Crotwen - like the nine yard sack last night with under a minute. Its hard to blame the QB for getting sacked when the braindead coordinator calls a play where ever receiver runs a 25 yard, four second route, despite the fact that defense has blitzed on the previous ten plays. Crowten apparently dropped out of the class on drop off routes in offensive coordinator school.

he was playing on one wheel last night with just about zero mobility. his stats weren't good & he should have known that he could not spike the ball.
He still gave us an opportunity to win. A qb good coach can develop him into one of the better qb's in the SEC over the next two seasons.

Miles is yelling at him to spike it. You can't fault him for doing what he was told to do.

Yes you can. It's common football knowledge to know that you can't spike the ball with one second left. Despite being young, he should have realized this.
There are times in life, work, etc.. that a person has to think for themselves and do what needs to be done.
If you saw a co worker choking to death and your boss said, "don't touch them. Wait for the paramedics." Would you wait or have sense enough to do something?
