If nothhing else , if this rumor is true , I'm with you crazy , at least we can take solace in knowing that we have an AD with the balls to make a decision rather than just pussy footing around.

I don't know how much influence the Gov has on LSU so correct me if I am wrong but I always thought the the reason Emmert left was because he and Blanco did not see eye to eye.

But it was Songy himself who was saying the stuff about the $13 million and the Jindal stuff
not much of a step up from the callers. what the hell would Jindal have to do w/ LSU football?

I can't belive this didn't make the board yet (or my searching skills suck) (or might be too hot for the board?) I dunno.

Anyway, on the Songy show today a caller asked about a rumor that he had heard that Alleva was ready to fire Miles after the Ole Miss Game.

Songy didn't really answer that directly but said that several big money men in TAF were able to put together $13 million towards a buyout after that game (at lest verbally). Said most of these guys were from North La - Monroe, Shreveport, etc. But said that Jindal stepped in and said it wouldn't be good for the school/state (I can't remember which) to get rid of Miles at this time given his record.

That came waaaay out of left field to me. I hadn't heard anything like that on this board or anywheres else. Left me going:

And then this big saucer came down at night and there were all these bright lights and then some monsters came out of the swamp and they all had big fangs and then these terrorists planted this bomb.....and then.....and them.....and then.....

Where in the fu ck is Jack Bauer when we really need him?

I have a hard time believing this is true.

I would think Jindal has enough to worry about. We are cutting education and health care when we rank last or next to last in various categories.

Since LSU Athletics receives no state tax dollars, very hard to believe a governor would have any say over a coach being hired or fired.

This is BEYOND RIDICULOUS

do you actually think men with money are going to part with over 13 million to get rid of a fool that Bertman gave a contract to for 4M a year?

I don't care what happens to LSU my kids come first. Flame away, but no way I part with 500K or 1M to get rid of Miles. Let LSU do it, and take it like a man...or university.

This is total and i mean TOTAL BS.

Yes, it happens at big time football programs. Just recently at Nebraska before Bo was hired.

I actually heard this from a source other than buddy or br radio. As with any rumor of this nature I took it with a grain of salt but maybe there is a little smoke. Personally, the Jindal thing sounds like complete BS to me. I have no idea why he would stick his nose into it unless les was pumping some of that 4 mil a year into his campaign coffers.

I seldom hear anything here in Georgia but if that's the case, I'm glad to hear it. One more year is all he gets to get this straight. We CANNOT sink to mediocrity while Alabama rises to the top with Saban. We must compete and win against Alabama.

I could have misunderstood but I took it as jindal's objection was due to the money being paid given the state's financial troubles and not so much anything to do with Miles coaching record
