I was playing around on the internet killing time and noticed something cool on McClendon's headstone. They etched in an old photograph of him and Tommy Casanova.

That is the logo for the Charlie Mac Foundation. Which gives scholarships to children of former players that attend LSU.

There is a large plaque installed on Tiger Stadium west side with information on Coach Mac and the foundation.

Cholly Mac was a good dude - I know some guys who played for him and they all say they would run through a wall for the guy - different type of coaching back then

I've done some exploring of old cemeteries in east Texas.
The headstones over there often have a totally different art/style compared to what we see in Louisiana. I've seen incredible photos of the deceased on their horse, driving a race car, etc. engraved into the stone.
When a young person dies, the parents sometimes go all out on the stone. You'll see a huge marker and figure it is for someone rich or famous, but it may well belong to a teenager.
