1. I think Myles Brennan's running ability is incredibly underappreciated. He has a good scrambling ability that will only get better. Some of the plays Joe made running were just ridiculous and I don't think any SEC quarterbacks are capable of doing that.

2. I think we may run the ball a little more ( with Linehan as PGC) but we still certainly remain near balanced. The talent in our RB room is excellent and we will be able to utilise the different skill sets of our guys.

The receiving will still be excellent though.

Also I'll have a 2022 recruiting update coming soon.

We lost so many people to the draft, and are still freaking loaded.

Chase
Marshall
McMath
Palmer
Boutte
Gilbert
TDP
Emery
Curry

Can't wait

Was listening to the 247/CBS cfb podcast and those guys were saying this LSU team is as talented as last years team, and they do the recruiting rankings.

It’s gonna be electric. Whether it’s against the normal schedule, or a 13 game SEC round robin schedule, we’re going to dominate

The problem with Brennan trying/wanting to be a ball carrier (designed run or scramble) is that we don’t have anyone behind him - were he to get injured.

We can be as optimistic as possible about Finley and/or Johnson. But if either of them becomes the starter in 2020, wins will likely be much harder to come by in our tougher games.

I am not saying it is guaranteed doom-and-gloom. We see true freshmen explode onto the scene every season - the USC guy last season for example). But I would prefer to see Brennan just throw the ball away when pressured. And live to see another down.

This team will go as far as the QB is capable of taking them. The defense will be good and has depth at all 3 levels. The skill positions on offense are as good as they’ve ever been. That only leaves the OLine and QB as question marks and I for one believe that the OLine is going to be good with the guys we’ve got slated to start there and the 2 deep.

i think for brennan, the key is decision making. the last few nc teams all had a qb that could hurt the defense with their feet. all of the qb's had a good sense of when to tuck and run. he's definitely got the physical tools.

brennan to me seems to be a bit like lawrence and burrow, not the greatest running athletes like hurts, murray and watson, but effective enough to get some yards when the d dictates it. he's kind of built like lawrence and looks like him when he runs.

overall, i think the pieces are in place to get brennan some easy throws. as long as he has a decent pocket awareness and doesn't try to force tough throws, he should be fine. that got tua into trouble. most of the time, his wr's bailed him out but it cost him in some really important moments.

the biggest problem with brennan's throws is throwing too hard. hopefully he can develop some touch, especially on screens.

bama was elite with mccarron and coker. i can't imagine brennan being less effective than them. he's definitely a better runner than that group and has a strong arm. brennan has exceptionally good wr's who get open and catch the ball.

i see no reason why brennan can't be as effective as 2019 lawrence. he's certainly got the surrounding cast. as long as he makes good decisions. get the ball to the skill players, avoid sacks, take what the defense gives you, make the easy throws. the pieces are all there.

BFNIII - I couldn't state it better if I tried. Perfect analysis of how Brennan needs to play this year to win another one.

it's going to be fascinating to see how this plays out. i've been watching the last few ncg's. bama and uga were certainly more committed to running between the tackles than clemson but bama changed with tua and co. tua had the wr's to just throw a lot more 50/50 passes, more than hurts for sure. that should work out well for brennan with his wr group.

lsu was off the charts throwing crossing routes between the hashes. none of the last several ncg teams were even close and danielson talked about it all year. that's a tough/risky throw. not sure how much we'll see of that, at least at first. burrow just consistently completed those throws even when contested. it was incredible to watch.

lsu ran a lot more of the bunch/stack formations, especially in short yardage situations, than prior ncg teams. they will probably stick around.

i would be surprised if lsu is just pedal to the metal 5 wide almost every play like last year. that will probably come back down to earth a little because you're trading burrow and helaire for brennan and emory.
