We will be good enough to repeat in 2024. Whether we do or not is another thing.

Think about how absolutely loaded we were last year. Now think about how difficult of a road it was, and how close we came to elimination. Winning it all is so incredibly difficult to do. This team could put together a better resume, stack up more team accolades, and run into a buzzsaw in a super.

Pearson playing 2B as well.

This is my prediction. It seems like a very CJJ type move with all the OF depth we have. I was really surprised Pearson wasn't playing 2B when Dugas was struggling with his injury last year.

I wonder if CJJ has changed Braswell's swing. He was a .255 hitter last year so that's a pretty big turnaround

Jay Johnson has improved hitting everywhere he's been, so I don't think it's a stretch to think that he has helped him improve.

Still though, we are talking about a pretty small sample size. I am feeling confident saying that SS is his to lose at this point though.

I had Braswell at 9/30 or .300 when I added up Scuba's numbers. You sure .375? Maybe I made a mistake.

I cant say everything is 100% accurate as its literally manually typing in a spreadsheet what scuba says but by week this is what I have for Braswell:

Oct 5-8 = 3 for 6
Oct 12-15 = 3 for 9
Oct 19-22 = 3 for 8
Oct 27-29 = 0 for 1 (only appeared in 1 of 3 scrimmages this past weekend)

9 for 24, .375

I'd like to hear from people who were at the scrimmages how comfortable he looked at 2B. And maybe more importantly, was there a big dip in defense when he was there over our "true" infielders that have been rolling out there.

My guess is that JJ just sees the production in the OF and knows that he's going to be leaving some serious pop on the bench. So he's testing these waters to see if he can get all of them in the lineup together somehow.

I absolutely loved Dugas, but he was painful to watch at 2B after his injury. LSU should never be switching out the SS and 2B based on where they think balls will be hit to try to hide a player. I want us to have a solid middle INF again.

If you try to read into the way the position has rotated so far, this position seems completely up in the air. There was a whole slew of guys switching in and out here, and recently we have seen Kling and Pearson playing 2B as well.

It could mean that JJ feels:

1 - none of the regular infielders are showing they can take firm control of the position

2 - our OF depth looks so great that he's trying to see which one of them can handle 2B in order to get the most out of the lineup

I am all on board getting Pearson or Kling into 2B if it means we can get another big bat in the lineup in the OF next to Bingham and either Pearson/Kling. Lots ot play with in the OF and not many options at 2B.

Guidry seems like a long ways away still but things can change quick there. Braswell seems like the no question SS right now. Milam has struggled big time to start out and I thought he could be a factor in the MIF.

Me too, as long as it doesn't mean 2B is a massive defensive hole like last year.

Jones will bat .190 this season and lead team in HR’s…..reminds me of Kyle Schwarber.

I dont think Jay will allow that to happen. He got benched last year when the SOs started to pile up even though he would knock one out the park at times. Jones has got to learn how to hit with 2 strikes and it's not a power swing every time

He really doesnt have to hit .300 or anything if he can knock out 20-30 home runs, but .190 aint it in a Jay Johnson lineup.

He needs lessons from Tommy White.

There will definitely be holes in the offense but what caliber players like Crews & Morgan don't leave holes? Pitching will be our strength.

Jake brown and Kade Anderson are definitely both two way players.

I’m a little surprised Kade hasn’t gotten a look at the plate and in the outfield.

I watched Pearson play some 2B Sunday. He definitely looks comfortable there. I imagine he would be adequate there.

I think Jay wants Milam or Guidry at 2B and probably more Milam. It hasn't happened yet.

In the OF, Larson, Mitchell, Frey and Brown who are all currently on the bench look to have more offensive potential than Milam and Guidry.

Pearson makes sense at 2B,but he hasn't had a good Fall if that means anything.

Not to mention Ruddell and Paul. OF is stacked. 2B not so much.

How well will Tommy White hit without following Crews?

Solo Tiger mentioned that to me Sunday. Who is going to protect White in the lineup?

On a positive note. Jones does look improved defensively.

He hit pretty damn well his freshman year at NC State. I'm sure White will hit just fine.
