Its weird to say the worst player on the field the last two weeks has been Pleasants. You aren't going to beat a team like Washington making errors on routine plays like this.

I don't get Sunseri not pitching though. Figured that would be a give me considering how erratic Wickersham gets. Hopefully she works out of this.

I don’t think Beth has confidence in Sunseri…..these are the top two teams we play this weekend and no Sunseri. Look back at The playoffs last year and hardly any Sunseri.

The Tigers got very lucky not having to face Plain. Then this happens.

I think the poster was referring to pitching choices. Clearly Sunseri is our best hitter this year so far.

My bad. I thought maybe they missed the first game. It is strange she hasn't pitched more. It's not like softballers have pitch counts

Freshman looking very good

Guessing Sunseri will get Notre Dame tomorrow morning, which is the worst team we play this weekend. I am really shocked Sunseri didn’t get Washington and Wick get the easier game.

Pleasants is just not driving the outside pitch the other way like she did last year. Seems she is rounding the ball and pulling it to the right side. When she figures it out and starts driving the ball the other way she has the best swing on the team!

Seems like a waste to use Sunseri 6 innings in. If you were going to use her, use her in the beginning when you had a chance, not down 5 runs.

I agree, almost like Beth punted this game. Maybe, just maybe if Sunseri would have started we could have went 2-0 today. I just don’t like it.

With plain not pitching, we had the opportunity to take this one. If Plain pitched, it would have been very tough to score

Overall, not a bad day.

Played the #5 and #7 teams in the country at a neutral site and split the games. And run-ruled the #7 team in the 6th inning.

LSU also scored 14 runs today against superior talent. Two games against the #5 and #7 teams and scored 14 runs. Last weekend in six games LSU scored 21 runs total.

Last weekend they averaged 3.5 runs per game against average competition at home. Today they averaged 7 runs per game. Maybe the old football adage - that a team improves the most between its first and second games - works for softball and that a softball team improves the most between it first and second series.

She absolutely hammered that ball. Pitcher left it hanging trying to get a strike and she paid for it.

Well done ma’am.

The offense has not been producing but catcher is really just killing us

They have scored 19 runs on the past 3 games, and one of those 3 games is just in the second inning. Yes offense sucks .

LSU has shown some much improved patience at the plate this weekend. Notre Dame pitcher walks the bases loaded and newland roped a grand slam.

I dont know who is responsible for the catchers but they have some real work to do. Not one of these catchers seems to value the simple act of blocking a ball in the dirt. There is just no attempt to do anything other than stab a glove at it and be resigned to giving up bases.

Thank goodness for Newland, Sunseri is getting hit hard early.

Catcher position may just need to be best offense, the defense is just bad no matter who is back there it seems.

This level of nonchalance about being a defensive catcher speaks more to coaching. I'm assuming it's Leftwich but the fact that they still arnt even attempting to block balls and keep them in front means they are being allowed to not give any effort.

There is a difference in just not having a talented catcher so you go with offense and giving up on playing basic defense all together.
