Selman turned out to be a great pitcher, didnt she. I saw her beat Oklahoma and she should have beaten them twice in that series but the center fielder messed up and they lost.
One thing about recruiting (and recruiting is not my thing, batting is), people look at how players are treated and it definitely factors in as to whether or not they will go to a school.
Corbello and Selman should have pitched more.

The two Gremillion sisters from St. Amant. Both excellent players. The younger of the two, Kourtney, is a strong left handed hitter that has serious power potential and was a high school All American. Kara can just flat out play and was the two time LA Gatorade player of the year.

I think there is the mistaken notion that everyone fron South Louisiana automatically wants to play for LSU and dont need much pulling to get them to go to LSU

This. Unfortunately, this is exceptionally true in women's basketball right now.

LSU had a chance to get UK's pitcher Autumn Humes last spring when she transferred into D1, but basically LSU told her that she wouldn't play this year. LSU's 2 SR pitchers and other depth in front of her. Humes has been good for UK this year, getting the win vs LSU today. Sad to see her pitch for other teams.

Both are excellent players but my question is where would you see these players statistically if they played here now. We have many players on roster who were all americans in hs and excellent at the travel ball level and continue to regress and have a difficult time.

Tonight's game moved up to 4:30 Central to try to beat rain that is moving into Lexington tonight. Still on SECN

Just saw that posted, LSU can't afford to lose today. A sweep would be pretty disastrous early on, especially to Kentucky. It would essentially nullify the Auburn sweep

My mantra has always been "whatever you do, don't get swept". Losing 2 out of 3 in a road series is not disastrous. Losing 3 out of 3 can be. Kentucky will be a decently high RPI team, and 1-2 vs. then looks a whole lot better than 0-3...and for that matter, 4-2 in SEC play looks a lot better than 3-3. Tonight is very important.

RPI is out today and LSU at 11 with their 23-4 record
So we can move up but LSU has to take care of business
Kentucky is #27 in RPI

It's a zero sum game and somebody has to be the 3rd and 4th option. Unless you want equal distribution of innings despite others being better. You aren't being treated poorly if obviously better players are playing more than you. Throwing a couple more mid week games their way wouldn't have helped any.

People also don't realize when Selman transferred to baylor, she saw even less innings her junior year than her sophomore year at LSU. She didn't really pitch as an everyday until she was a senior
