Perhaps not stellar competition out west, but you know Beth will have a smile on her face on the plane back home heading into SEC play.

-Both preseason AAs living up to their hype.

-Coffey and Briggs, a couple of machines at the top.

-Both freshman pitchers coming along nicely.

-Suddenly Redoutey, Gutierrez, Newland knocking the ball around...Good things happening.

The schedule isn't what is was in recent years but I'm happy Torina toned down the OOC schedule some. Especially to develop the freshmen pitchers early.

And usually when you schedule Minnesota and Michigan, you expect they will be pretty good, but they are both now bad.

Anxious to see how this looks in SEC play. South Carolina has a good record but their schedule has been very bad. Their coach scheduled like she is trying to save her job.

Tennessee is very good. Will be a big weekend in 2 weeks with that series, along with womens basketball 1st and 2nd rounds

To be fair to Michigan, they lost their HOF coach, their two star AA pitchers Beaubian and Storako are no longer there. So its gonna be a bit to regroup for them as a program.

Not LSU's fault though

I just like that we aren't going to roll into SEC with a bunch of losses this year and we have some confidence going in. We will end up playing OU later on but UL, Michigan, Minnesota, Utah, Oregon St was a very reasonable schedule this year.

Can we talk about Danieca Coffey?

Not only is she batting .471, but her defense is markedly better than it was in the early part of last year.

She was rather shaky at 3B in February and March last year and finished the year with 15 errors.

This year her fielding percentage is .983. I’m so glad we have Coffey for this year and next.

Her entire career has been impressive

We all shook our heads at her defense and offense year one.

Jumped from a .226 BA to .379 BA in her sophomore season. Now she is beating mid .400s with dramatically improved defense
