Schulte is the worst 2nd baseman in the SEC she has cost us and extended games with her errors and Ins effectivel at at bats

South Carolina picked up one of the hottest hitting teachers around in the fall

Yah because Shaltmann can’t frame for them like CC is known for and Torina won’t let her catch and bat. Shatlmann 2 for 12 I think for weekend as a clean up batter which is another worst in SEC

Gee, we have never had a second baseman that couldn't hit or field before. Or does that sound familiar? Remember, chisel not pen, no eraser.

This staff has never been able to develop players and they have never looked to talented freshman to build for the future. Antoine is still sitting every other game. That's insane. Claire is top 5 in OBP and cannot get in the line up. Both need to be hitting every game until they exhaust the same chance as the other consistent non-performers.

Huge win against Baylor but it was an anomaly. Up 3-2 in 7th with an 0-2 count on Sanchez and you can pretty much call that a loss about 99% of the time. Obviously this team is finding a way to win despite massive deficiency and that tells you alot about the player mentality. Let's hope we can do it on the road as well.

I know everyone wants to stay away from this topic, but how good could we be with Andrews and Dawson up top? Just another complete waste because the staff refused to sit bad players and prepare for the future. She has proven all of the idiots on this board wrong and will probably be an all Big 12 performer and we wouldn't put her in the line up. Pathetic and this mentality is a big part of our overall position player problem.

Overall, I think most would trade a bad loss against ND for that massive win over Baylor. They knocked Hoover around more than anyone I remember in the last few years. That is a good team which makes it even more dumbfounding to turn around and lay an egg.

Play the next freaking game. The team is 26-5. Ya'll need to stop being so damn melodramatic about everything. Stuff like a senior leader firing up her team in a huddle gets twisted into Carley's frustrated and yelling at the hitters.
I wish I could give you a thousand upvotes for this.

Some of you don't understand that with a high ranking, 3 consecutive WCWS appearances, we have a huge target on our backs. We will see the #1 pitcher from every non conference team we play. They want their one shot at us.

Did you see the triple play Florida hit into yesterday? You never see that much

Still proud of this team this weekend for finding ways to win with our backs against the wall. Some big time hits all over

I do think Claire Weinberger and Taryn Antoine both should be in the lineup, both are hitting and getting on base every game, very consistent. One could be in RF while other at DP

Hopefully we can carry some of this momentum into this coming series.

And what some of you don't understand is that this success is in spite of our position player play. You can hide your head in the sand and say things are great because we are riding on the back of two of the greatest pitchers in program history.

But you refuse to recognize that we have 2/3 of our starters hitting below .250 and have consistently had one of the worst defensive infields in the SEC the last few years.

Our position player approach is questionable. No fan is unhappy that we are 26-5 but to pretend the play of many of our everyday starters reaches the standard a program like LSU should demand is living in a dreamland.

We should be much better outside of the circle. No excuse exist to justify how limited we are on the position player side.

Agree, and yes, Antoine played SS in high school. She cannot be a downgrade to what we have been accustomed to seeing at this position the last few years. Try her there with Claire in right and get Sunseri and Goff some at bats at DP. PLAY THE MOST TALENTED FRESHMAN!!!!!

We are 26-5 with incredibly poor offensive production. We cannot expect this rabbit's foot to stay in our pocket forever. We need to try something new to see if we can make a difference. I just do not have faith that we will ever make an adjustment with personnel.

I disagree but as of now Schlattman is the only one who can throw out anyone. Only position on the field i will sacrifices offense for defense is catcher. I don't have an issue with Torina there, its correct call to have her there

Antoine has hit well this season, more so as of late. She was fantastic vs Kentucky. She had a hit vs Baylor and she hit a laser between 1B and 2B which helped her reach base a second time.

I do think its asinine she isn't everyday hitting, she is over .300 and on base all the time.

Some of these kids will hit a nice ball every now and then but we can't hit a ball really well one game out of every 10. Consistency wins

Annoying as you are most of the time, I at least try to see where you are coming from and I even agree with you sometimes. But if you are advocating putting Antoine at SS in place of Serrett, then you are truly off your rocker.

he is saying 2B

Schulte is batting below .200

Thats not acceptable, when half the lineup bats below .250 you can't score consistently. I am not sayin they can't make hits but they aren't near consistent for LSU to be able to score much

Next year, when the other teams are scoring 5 or 6 runs a game against our good but not great pitching, then people will start griping about offense and position play.

I dont think Maribeth or Shelby will end up as good as Carlie and Allie. They will be good but maybe not among the elite..

I think Maribeth will be an absolute stud for us just needs more experience. Just needs to fix her rise ball consistency but the pitches are there to be just as efficient as hoover and walljasper.

Sunseri still has work to do as a pitcher but its ridiculously early in her career

I imagine at least one of LSU's two incoming pitchers will be very good, talent isn't an issue

I don't ever think pitching will be an issue for us

Offense has to be addressed though

I am not sure either of them will have the velocity that a lot of strike out pitchers have. I do think both will get better. Allie has so much control and three speeds while Carlie is overpowering.

One thing i would look into is developing Maribeth and Shelby as hitters. They have great potential there, too.

Strike outs will come for Maribeth, its dramatically better already this season, she was limited early on with her arm issues. I don't ever think it will be on the level of hoover but if she can keep an ERA around 1-2 then thats perfect as well.

Torina adjusted MB's windup this year, velocity is a bit better. The spin on her pitches is what a lot of hitters seem to have difficulties with, they can't seem to square up on any of her pitches. If this year is any indication of her future development I feel pretty good about her future on the mound for us

Sunseri was a phenomenal hitter in hs and at the travel ball level. I really hope the staff doesn't stop playing Sunseri just needs the experience. Not 100% sold on MB as a hitter based off what I've seen from hs and travel ball but hey it can't be any worse than what we see now

Georgia and South Carolina are dramatically improved.

Ole Miss is pretty bad this year. Mike Smith keeps running off everyone. They lost a few people in the fall
