Had no clue. Thanks fur the update. So is the 1959 Heisman trophy On display at TJ ribs the school's, or is it the property of the Canon family?

Lsu has a copy of most awards. They are on display in the football OPs building. It's pretty cool to go see. Not sure if it's open to the general public or not. That's where the national championship trophies are at least.
We had a work event there a few years ago. It's like a LSU museum in the front. Pretty cool.

After 1966 when Spurrer gave his trophy back to Florida, they started giving two trophys. One to the school and one to the winner. Before that, one was issued to the winner only. The way they make them, no two are exactly alike !

Joe's personal trophy will be at his home or at his parents' home in the coming years. The copy of that trophy will be on display at LSU until the world ends in a dramatic conflagration.

My understanding is that Billy Canon sold it to TJ Ribs and it now belongs to them to do with as they please. Of course, they are LSU supporters to the end, so I trust that it is in good hands.
I have a feeling that the Burrow (now Burreaux) family will keep that trophy in their family long after all of us and our great-grandchildren have passed from this life on earth. LSU will certainly not relinquish that prized possession.
If you want to see a Heisman trophy awarded to an LSU Tiger, you're gonna have to go to the LSU Campus, TJ Ribs in Baton Rouge, or to he Burrow household in Athens, Ohio to view the real McCoy.
And, as Coach O says, "Geaux Tigahs!"
