So, we might NOT be in the Cotton Bowl???

If South Carolina wins we are going to the Cotton bowl. If Auburn wins your guess is as good as mine.

I wouldn't rule out the Outback Bowl in that situation.

I still think it could be the Cap One bowl either way. If Aub wins, they are in the BCSNCG, SC goes to Outback, that leaves Ark in Sugar, next in line is LSU to Cap One (bigger payday), Bama goes to Cotton.
If SC wins, they go to Sugar, Aub goes to Orange, then it becomes tricky, Ark could go to Cap One, LSU to Cotton, Bama to Peach?

No, I am not saying the Cap one is better because the payout, but I am thinking about the financial aspects from the AD and Presidents perspective. They look at the bottom line, we all know that money drives everything, plus I would think they want the program to play the best (highest) ranked competition, and that would be in the Cap One vs Mich St who is 11-1. The Cap One pays $675,000 more than Cotton.

if SC wins the SEC, it is anyones guess, Arkansas wont be in the Cotton, but does the Cap One take them?

Exactly. If you take the payout of Cap-One and Cotton and divide by the 12 members of the SEC, then LSU gets an extra $50K plus for Cap One Bowl. Not that big of a deal.
By playing in the Cotton Bowl we get 3 advantages:
#1 We Play on Jan 7 as the only game that day = extra national exposure.
#2 We get an extra week of practice for next year.
#3 Our 85 underclassmen get to play on the same field that they open up the 2011 season on.
Bottom line = frick THE CAP ONE BOWL
