A dog arse defense, with a wide open offense! On top of it looks like we have an electric playmaker returning punts! I dont think there is much to bitch about. This team looked like they were in mid/late season form and it was the FIRST frickING GAME! I know it was GSU, but damn it's hard to not come away impressed with them. You can tell they are very well coached. I hope this thing keeps running like tonight, if so, we could be playing for championships this season brothers

All the people saying “I know it was GSU” said “watch out for GSU” last week.

Let’s not start sucking each other’s dicks just yet, BUT I have to agree with your assessment. It not only felt different, it WAS different. It was clean and crisp and fluid and intense on nearly every play and in every phase.

I'm taking the wait and see, but tonight sure looked like a statement was being made. If Joe stays in we put up 70... JS

As a Tulane fan who doesn't hate LSU and can't always get to watch their games I did like hearing that the first 15 or so (please correct me if I'm wrong) plays were/are scripted. I think doing so takes some pressure of the quarterback and helps them to get in a rythm.
Now the next thing could just be a rumor or the announcers could have been told a lie but the announcer said something along the line 'the coaches have one type of offense, if this one doesn't work the coaches have another to replace it.
I know some people will say its Georgia Southern and they aren't a top tier team.... but LSU went out and beat them convincingly.
Once LSU hit 42 points I put the tv on mute so I could get stuff done around the house and just check in on the game.
Good luck to yall the rest of the season.

Our defense was dog arse? Looked pretty good to me.

There's definitely nothing about last night's game to complain about, in terms of any glaring negatives. If there is one concern, though, it would be averaging 3.7 yards per carry against a cream puff defense. I was surprised by that, but I'm not ready to call it an issue yet. Going forward, the line will certainly face stiffer competition, and they'll need to do better in this area.
We've long awaited an open passing attack, and while the opponent obviously wasn't great, that performance showed that they are indeed willing to open up the passing game, which is a very nice change from the norm. But that doesn't mean it's cool to be one dimensional in the other direction now. If the line improves it's play, we know LSU has the play makers in the backfield, and with this kind of passing attack, coupled with what should continue to be a dominant defense, I see the national championship race being between LSU, Clemson and Alabama.
Take your pick for number 4. If LSU gets the running game together, I'll take them against anyone.

Agree.
But it was pretty vanilla and they were getting guys a lot of touches. I think we will know more vs Texas.

And I agree with that. That's why I'm not yet marking it down as a weakness, because you'd think the blocking schemes and formations will become more varied and complex moving forward. You should be able to physically man handle a team like Georgia Southern at the line of scrimmage, so it WAS a disappointing facet of last night's game, but, yes, next week will tell us much more.

LSU appeared to be the best coached team in all phases of the game, out of all the teams playing this week. That is almost as impressive as the LSU offense.

“Dog arse” is just slang for-
dog·ged
/'dôg?d/
adjective
having or showing tenacity and grim persistence.
"success required dogged determination"

GASouthern had a well coached, disciplined defense that was committing a lot to stop the run.
They were a little outmanned, but I wouldn’t call them a cream puff defense.
Other than the pass to Jefferson I don’t think I saw them out of position all night.

One of the best lines from an absolute classic movie (Pulp Fiction) used perfectly, and some of you have no clue.
