Bull fricking shite they were a “fringe top 8 team”

This team stuggled to knock off Southern Miss, who wasn’t even a good regional 3rd seed, then went 2 and a BBQ against Florida State. We weren’t “close” to Omaha by any stretch of the imagination.

We were actually one of 3 teams to go 0-2, and at least those other 0-2 teams lost to higher seeded teams.

It absolutely amazes me that LSU fans are praising Mainieri for this mediocre bullshite season and giving the worst performance of any of the 16 teams in super regionals

I didn't know that was praise. I certainly wasn't trying to show praise. I didn't even say one of the 8 best teams. To me, being a "fringe top 8 team" means just on the outside of the top 8 fighting to get into it. This was a top 20 team fighting to get into the top 8 all season long. There were a dozen or more teams in the same boat. There are a few elite teams-- half of them are no longer playing either. I don't know how anything I said was incorrect or "praise". In no way should LSU have had the season they had compared to Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Arkansas, or Georgia. Georgia also faced the same ending that we did, by the way, in much less impressive fashion even... In no way will being a top 20 team trying to get into the top 8 ever be acceptable standards for LSU baseball.

Yeah -- I've seen far worse. The result was heartbreaking, but these guys did everything they could.

Two base running errors by Garza and Watson does not require any imaginary stretching.

So the baseball team that finished the season at # 1 ended up not even making it to Omaha.

94? I may be wrong but they were highly ranked with Walker, and the core of the 96 national champion team.

A total joke. I hope the FB team is outside the top 15.

It could be worse. Arkansas up 14 to 1 in top of the 8th on ole Miss. Our exit was more dignified
