I don't think the coaches find him talented. The entire move to F-back earlier this season was the biggest smoke/mirrors bullshite.
I suspect what they are dealing with is a "Jack of all trades, but master of none". At the same time he's somewhat of a physical specimen more along the lines of an avg RB who just physically dominated at the HS level.

Combine the two and you get a "raw talent" type situation.

Especially at safety. Delpit showed he had the instincts, and that position takes instincts. Stevens, being a player of multiple positions in HS, doesn't have the experience to be "skilled" there yet.

Take that talent, coach and develop it... and you get skills.

He's an incredible athlete. He was a man among boys at WR at the UA AA game.

So what tells you he's a good safety?

I'm not saying he's not, but Dellocono's theory could be correct.

That's why bouncing him to a different position every two weeks is terrible coaching.

Based on what I've seen so far of the coaching staff Stevens must be a Heisman level talent

Agreed. But if you're trying to find the best place to develop him at... to make those skills. Now is the time. Not his jr year for sure.

I admit, that's conditional. IF that's what they are doing. IF they are trying to figure out what's natural/instinctive/best fit.

Gage was the last signee in his class and considered a big reach when he signed. Guess hard work pays off.

Gage shouldn't be seeing the field.
