Apples to Apples - Saban 5 years at LSU 48-16
Miles 5 years at LSU 51-15. Miles has 3 more wins, 1 fewer loss. Saban has 1 more SEC title.

miles also has 1 more bowl win, not t menton the quality of sec coaches miles faced compared to saban. zook at florida, holtzth at s. carolina, cutcliffe at om - coaches duke football now

You're really going to sigh at that? Do you think that:
1) Urban Meyer is not as good as Zook?
2) Lou Holtz is better than Steve Spurrier?
3) Cutcliffe is better than Hootie?

I swear some of you guys are blinded by your inability to understand the context of competition.

Yup because the context is not apples to apples...
If you believe the LSU football team was the same in 2000 when Nick Saban took over as in 2005 when Les Miles took over then you could say apples to apples.

People pick and choose what they want to argue I understand that but think of it this way Nick Saban coached against Stever Spurrier twice while at LSU.
Les Miles has coached twice against Steve Spurrier while at LSU.

When Nick Saban was at LSU in early 2000's Tennessee was a stronger program than it is today. I know people are going to twist whatever they want to try and fit it into their argument but many of what I have seen twisted in this thread has more to it than people believe.

Also the guy is an idiot for bashing Cutcliffe going to Duke. The dude is on the verge of giving Duke their first winning season and bowl bid since 1994. Winning at Duke is harder than winning at Vandy apparently and Cutcliffe looks like he about to accomplish that. Ole Miss ran him off not because he couldn't coach (44-29 at Ole Miss) but because they jumped the gun after a 4-7 season.

While everyone is bitching about the strength of the SEC now compared to when Saban was here. It was strong then and now. With Fulmer (in his prime), Steve Spurrier for two seasons, Mark Richt, Tuberville, Nutt, even Holtz at SC had 2 seasons where they won the Outback bowl and won 8/9 each year.

For the record, I have not taken a stance as Pro-Saban or Pro-Miles. I pointed out on previous page that it is not apples to apples and I did "sigh" because people blindly believe it is.

Yea that is something to be very proud of.

So is losing to UAB or UL-M, then NOT winning a NC. That's good coaching right there.

What perjorative term would you use for those who are like the three monkeys w.r.t. Les? Hear no evil speak no evil, see no evil?

The title says where you stand regardless of anything else you might say.

hiring Crowton was one of the best moves Miles has made...not firing him is one of the worst.
