If you think way back we always played the evening game. Typically the #1 seen plays he first game.

Wrong, this only started when ( Shite for brains ) Laval was coaching. Under Skip they always played the night game.

This started when NCAA went to 4 team Regional format under skip it was a different format.

I thought the reason we play the early game on Friday was that just in case we lose, there is a longer turnaround for game 3.
Example: Losing Friday night's game and then having to play the early game on Saturday.
