Why is Joe Alleva agreeing to play on Thanksgiving night? I couldn't care less that A&M and Texas used to play on Thanksgiving night.

Agreed. If they gave a fyck about tradition, maybe they shouldn't have switched conferences. I don't care about the Friday game, but having the game on thanksgiving sucks arse.

I can't imagine the that this will screw up family traditions just for my family.

It takes a big man to allow a college football game to interfere with a family tradition and then blame it on the organizers of the game.

I'm thinking most people aren't going to ditch their family for the college football game. And there lies the problem. LSU fans are getting screwed out of the opportunity to travel and see their Tigers play because A&M used to play Texas on Thanksgiving night.

Ok. This has been known for a while now. Why are people still whining about this?

LSU wanted to replace Arky with Aggy. Aggy likes playing on Thanksgiving. The thanksgiving thing was inevitable, and LSU more or less asked for it. If you'd rather not go to a football game on thanksgiving, don't go. You don't have to. People are relentlessly bitching about something that isn't that important to them, and many of them imagine this contrived connection between thanksgiving in College station and Saturday night in death valley. They have nothing to do wth each other, and everybody griping about this is being a baby.

Dude, my entire family of 25+ go to the games. I can't imagine that would stop and we all leave our seats empty if we do wind playing on thanksgiving in TS at some point. As it stands, the game us interfering with our typical thanksgiving tradition, which is pissing off the matriarch of our family, who has conceded much to LSU football having 6 boys graduate from that school; like I said, I doubt I'm alone.

You have brought absolutely nothing to this thread but to try and cut people down. If you don't have anything to add GTFO.

It's just a football game. You'll get over it.

Why? What does a Big 12 tradition have to do with LSU and the SEC? Why does A&M get to prance in the league and start demanding what day and time they play their home games? Is LSU, a charter member of the SEC, allowed to dictate the day and time of their home games?

and LSU more or less asked for it.

If by LSU was asking for it, you mean Joe Alleva, then sure. But I'm certain that most fans voiced their displeasure of the idea to Alleva. If that wasn't the case, then Alleva wouldn't have been spouting all of that "but we will get a home Saturday night game out of the deal" garbage back when the games were first announced.

Joe Alleva works for LSU, and not the SEC. His bending over backwards to accommodate A&M is not what he is hired to do at LSU.

Exactly, nobody is going to piss off their grandmother and go to this game. Family traditions will continue, and the game will be an afterthought. There are 2 days out of the year that LSU has to come second in my family, and this is one of them.

In other words, its a pretty huge request to put the game on a holiday, so I think it only fair that if this request is granted, that the other party has some sat as well ie let us have some say when the game is played in TS.

Texas A&M is in the SEC. Their Thanksgiving thing predates the Big 12.

Just as much as anyone else. If LSU wants Aggy at home on Thanksgiving, I expect that that request would be granted.

Aggy wants their final home game on Thanksgiving. "Sure, why not?" was the response. It's narcissistic to take this personally.

No doubt Alleva agreed to the Thanksgiving game, or at worst, was powerless to stop it. But he Alleva has to know that he has people to answer to, and these types of decisions are not going over well with many of those people.

You are one dense son of a bitch. Why instigate an argument then completely ignore the point you obviously missed.

You bitch about the most miniscule aspects of our program on this board, however the day of the week we actually play our game is just nothing to worry about to you. Quit acting like a tough guy, you just like to argue.

Our not thanksgiving thing predates that.

So they get to get their way, but the second we open our mouths we are bitching about nothing.

Because the AD of LSU shouldn't be powerless to stop it.

Gerry Dinardo was powerless to stop back to back losing seasons at LSU. Was he held accountable?

I didn't miss anything; I simply ignored what is irrelevant.

Or to you. You have something more important to do that day. That is a good thing.

you just like to argue.
Sounds like you just like to bitch. This was decided two years ago, and you're still bitching about a game that will happen almost 300 miles away from you and is, as you have said, not as important as spending that day with your family.

Our not thanksgiving thing predates that.
LSU doesn't have to play any home games on Thanksgiving.

This is exactly correct.

Most LSU fans wanted Aggy at the end of the season. Alleva did what it took to get LSU fans what they wanted. Now LSU fans are mad that they don't get to dictate when Aggy plays their final home game. People bitching about this are being unreasonable. You want Alleva to change the schedule to meet your want AND dictate how Aggy schedules senior day? Good lord.
