The Texas reliever threw 2 innings on Friday, and 13 innings on Saturday

I thought that was pretty dumb by Texas honestly. It worked for them in the end, but that is a shitload of pitches. No day off in between either unlike the original coleman situation.

Coleman possibly could have gotten out of the 8th with the lead in tact

Ranaudo would have gotten out of the eighth with the lead also if Hanover hadn't committed the error. It was not entirely Ranaudo's fault that Baylor tied the game

Put me down as someone who thinks pitching 2.2 innings on one day will usually affect a guy pitching 5+ innings on the next day.
Agree to that- It's one thing to come in & throw 5-10 pitches, but I want my starters completely fresh; it's just not worth it, especially on a team that has a reliever like Ott, & even Haydel has looked sharp in his limited appearances.

Other than your avatar you are worthless in this thread. The man suggested IF WE NEED LC in the postseason it would be wise to use him.Good thinking,in the Majors in the playoffs it's done often in extra innings. Some of you people are just sad little kids who can't admit when you were wrong and flaming for no reason. And LS Use the force,go watch Star Wars again and stop posting crap disgracing Master Yoda's image with your doucheness .frick you, come again.(OR NOT)

I suggest that either you don't understand what the man was suggesting or you did a VERY POOR JOB of describing what the man was suggesting.

Read it again and i'll admit when i'm wrong. It does SOUND like he is saying pen only so I guess he either misworded it or imo was wrong in that thought.
My point was that whenever needed we should use whomever can get us the W so LC or anyone was an option.Standing by my guns though, there is no sense in totally flamethrowing a guy for a difference of opinion. The way it's written I don't agree either but wouldn't talk to someone like they are stupid unless warranted(see above).Chill out guys,we're all Tiger fans.

JUNIOR SEASON (2008)
Appeared in 23 games (three starts), recording an 8-1 mark and a team-best 1.95 ERA in 55.1 innings with two saves, 10 walks and 62 strikeouts ... pitched brilliantly down the stretch – from April 15 through the end of the season, he was 7-1 with a 1.91 ERA and two saves in 16 outings (one start) with 45 Ks in 42.1 innings; opponents batted just. 217 against him during that span ... he was 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA in seven postseason appearances, recording 21 Ks and four walks in 20.2 innings ... pitched in all three LSU games of the College World Series, posted a 1-1 record with two walks and 10 strikeouts in seven innings ... earned the win in the Tigers’ CWS victory over Rice (June 17), limiting the Owls to no runs on one hit in two innings with no walks and two Ks ... winning pitcher in Game 2 of Super Regional vs. UC Irvine -- three scoreless innings, one hit, no walks, one strikeout . . . entered the UC-Irvine game in seventh inning with LSU trailing 7-2; Tigers rallied for 9-7 win ... winning pitcher in SEC Tournament championship game vs. Ole Miss -- six relief innings, no runs, three hits, no walks, seven Ks ... dominating outing at Auburn on May 17 to earn a save -- 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 6 K ... relief win over Miss. State (May 9) -- 3.1 IP, no runs, two hits, one walk, 3 K ... relief win at Tulane (April 22), limiting the Wave to no runs on four hits in 2.1 IP (1 BB, 2 K).

Imagine that, Coleman was a pretty darn good reliever last year.

I wasn't saying close him only. He has shown that he can close one game on the weekend, and still dominate a start after that. There was a day rest inbetween in the past, I know, but Saturday night won the regional for LSU. It was over after that.
