PPs body of work is emmense, I think people feel he had a bad year because teams threw his way and some people like Julio had some catches against #7 but maybe 3 catches. I am not certain but I think PP had 10 or less completions at his side. As much as I like Mo he us no where near the talent of PP. I love TM but he gave up some crucial TDs

I've seen a number of threads talking about how he had such a down year. Is this simply a case of rantards not knowing what the hell is going on, thinking he should be perfect at all times, and not realizing that offenses stayed away from him for the most part?

That's part of it. But for the douchebag patrol that litters our fanbase, the fact he was recruited by and played the whole time for Miles,he can't be that good. For this same bunch of retards, had he played for Saban, well,he'd been the greatest thing since sliced bread.

and he missed some very easy tackles

Since tackling Cam Newton is VERY, VERY EASY. GTFO the Rant you jackrabbit.

He may have missed a few tackles that I recall against Auburn but most of them were against Cam Newton...is this cat serious?

I believe that people's expectation level for him was impossible. There is no way a player can maintain the level of play he started with. Not to mention that opponents rightly viewed keeping PP out of the game as a key to not losing the game. When your opponents have to scheme around a particular player, he deserves that recognition regardless of actual output. Saying PP was innefective without getting huge action is like saying an M1 Abrams tank is only dangerous when it is shooting stuff.

This thread is getting out of hand and should have never garnered this much traction. If you can't read Insider, it basically gives a statistical analysis of why PP was the best (and most valuable) player on defense in the country.
