LSU fans are more forgiving.

My friend got called out in a restaurant just for wearing Florida colors. Not even football season. The shirt just happened to be close to their colors.

I don't know how the Catholic High kids get away with wearing orange.

gotcha. no

offense intended, but surely you can see where its kind of a douche move to wear the hat of the school your team is playing around campus

what the hell is wrong with this, I did it when I went to school there and before I transferred to LSU. I paid the tuition I will wear whatever team/'college cap I want. When the professor starts to pay your tuition then maybe he can have a say, in the mean time your helping to pay his salary.

I had a teacher walk up to me the first day of class, take my LSU hat off and turn it around. He then proceeded to give me the directions to LSU and said to go there if I wanted to wear that stuff in his class.

A response along the lines of - "well if you were actually good enough to teach at LSU, then this really wouldn't be a problem, would it?" - would have been appropriate.

agreed!

let me clearify to say that i catch crap for wearing my hat, its my friends who poke fun at me. no freakin professor has ever told me to take my hat off or go somewheres else. i wouldn't be a happy camper if someone told me that.

Luckily for me, nobody at Southeastern cares about LSU. I actually used my Southeastern student I.D. to get into the LSU-SLU baseball game at SLU last season wearing all my LSU gear, and got absolutely no crap whatsoever.

Yeah, sometimes it's nice attending a school where the majority of the student body is apathetic about their sports teams

I see it on campus every so often. One of the Lion's Roar editors even wrote an editorial complaining about it a couple of semesters ago. It included, "Just because you weren't smart enough to get into LSU (or dropped out of there) means you should wear their colors and logos on our campus."

I went to LSU and ended up at ULL for the nursing program.... Had nothing to do with money, time of travel or gpa and act.... The school has been trying to have its own identy for a long time, unfortunately ULL's rantards are much worse that of LSU's... In a different sense though.... There is nothing but red glasses there. FWIW if a professor there would have put his hands on me it would not have gone over very well..... You pay the tuition you dress how you want, it is annoying for the die hards when people wear LSU stuff, but there are La tech, tulane, southeastern etc etc all over campus and they don't get any grief. I dated a really cool chick, but the glasses were way to red. Wouldn't take em off and just be unbiased at all. Wanted to take her to games and refused because she hated LSU that much.... I just wish they would have a winning season for a few years in a row, so they could have that mid conference feel to them....

why didn't you go to LSU? its 30 minutes away.

There are a lot of reasons for not attending a school that you grew up a fan of. Like if you were a Cajuns fan, but wanted to go to vet school, or if another school is more economically feasible, or if moving doesn't work with your current obligations.

Then there's the whole thing with going to a small school or one with no sports programs, then can you be a fan? I just don't get it and it's a stupid argument. Personally I have degrees from 3 universities and none are LSU. One is from LSUA which is technically in the LSU system, but still not the same.

Anybody who is eligible and able to attend LSU, but chooses instead to attend some directional glorified high school, deserves the moniker of loser. Sorry.

Edit: I am saying this mostly in jest, of course. Several of my best friends went to USL. But my reasoning stands. Why go there when LSU is only an hour away?

I think it would be better for the state with both LSU and ULL doing well.... albeit on different levels.... Tulane doesnt have a shot, but Tech competes year in and year out. I am a Tiger fan, but I root for anyone who represents our state.

Nothing wrong with someone wanting to study engineering at LA Tech (Tier 3) or Computer Science at ULL (Tier 4). Those are good programs.

Got nothing for ULM though
