Bertman was the worst thing to ever happen as AD- Dan Radokovich ran the show

You must have missed the Joe Alleva error.

LSU has a rich history, much like the state, in selecting leaders.

I thought he was really just supposed to be in position short term as a play on the board pushing their candidate (Doug Moreau maybe) and would fight Emmerit’s choice (probably Saban’s choice as well), so he went with someone the board couldn’t refuse. Then he and Saban both move on to other jobs, and Bertman stayed longer as AD than original plan.

I thought they said Corbin has been at Vandy for 22 years?

yeah i hate when a guy hires multiple coaches in multiple sports that win natties and oversees the largest growth period in the history of an athletic department.

hindsight is always great when looking at these things.

at the time we hired PM, he was coming off 8 straight regional appearances, had won 40+ games in 9 of the previous 10 years, and was finishing 10 games above .500 basically every year at ND.

Corbin was in his 5th season with a bunch of 4th place finishes in the East.
he did win 50 games that season at Vandy, but that was his first season better than basically a game or 2 above .500 in conference play.

Rantz said Skip interviewed Corbin, but when he asked him to interview a second time, he took his name out of the running. Bertman then turned to Mainieri.
