dude, it's not the fact that we beat LSU. LSU is a top 5 team in the country and the cajuns went into the box with a really young team and beat them. Of course you are going to hear about it.

It's not personal. I root for LSU when im not cheering for the cajuns.

But I do think it's funny how much importance UL-L fans put on a mid-week baseball game. I guess if I was in their shoes, maybe I'd feel the same way. It goes back to how a lot of LSU fans I know feel...LSU playing these in-state teams have nothing to gain. If we win, we were suppose to...If we lose, hurts RPI.

Some of it could be embelished, but there are certain people that get their jollies off of LSU losing and I've met a few of them.
I love reading Ragin Pagin and hearing about how everything in BR sucks. The food sucks, the city sucks, and the school sucks. We both know these types are in a small minority, but they sure do make a lot of noise at particular times.

I've actually been called a traitor before, but I actually played baseball at ULL before transferring out to play at a smaller school out of state. I grew up a huge LSU fan around the NO area and always planned on attending LSU. My junior and senior seasons in high school were very good and I began receiving offers to play college baseball. Obviously LSU didn't offer, but I had other schools willing to pay my way. Believe it or not there are tons of kids in Louisiana that make this decision not because they're too stupid to get into LSU.
With that being said Lafayette is a great place and I decided to move back and support the school and athletics when I can while also supporting LSU. I agree there are some bad seeds that make noise and it's terrible for the advancement of the program. What I think hardcore LSU fans need to realize is that ULL is just trying to compete and most of their fans are LSU fans also when they don't play each other.
That's my open letter to "upset" LSU fans about ULL fans bragging about their win. They don't get to brag very often, much less to LSU fans. Most are just trying to have a little fun. Every dog has his day and LSU fans usually get the last laugh when it comes to LSU vs. ULL in athletics.

Man, I gotta chime in on this one...
I attend UL-Lafayette. And to be dead honest, I like our school. I'm proud of them for winning against a damn strong LSU team last night.
That being said, I know the deal. I'm an LSU fan at heart. LSU beats that weak UL team 8 out of 10 times. I realize this. But do you know what UL-tard lives their life for? Those 2 out of 10 times. And that's real fricking annoying for me.
This is a school with a pretty strong baseball history. It's a school that (attempts) to pride itself on being a class act. Mostly, they fail miserably.
I hate the UL tards that will try to put themselves on the same level as LSU because of a midweek baseball game. I think its a slap in the face for those of us who understand that, because of the HUGE discrepency in resources & flat out talent, UL-L will never be LSU. I've accepted that. I don't give a frick if they are or aren't. If they can win conference and make a run at a regional, I'm happy.
But Cajun Fan, listen to these words. This win doesn't matter. If you do it in the postseason, come back and talk to me. Talk to me when you do it against Ranuado. We aren't on LSU's level. Tiger fan is completely right. They play for Omaha, we play for regional births. It's night & day.
Act like you're a proud program, not a jealous prick of a program.
