Pirates are 6-1 in his 7 starts (Bucs gave up 6 and lost to SF after he was pulled) and he's 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA and roughly an 8/1 K to BB ratio with 53Ks.
As a true rookie pitcher, that is insane. Meaning he pitched in college last year. What a freak.

I hope he gets a start vs the Marlins.
They are free swingers and he may strike out 15+ against them.

He gives up a number of well hit balls to the track. None happened to go over the fence last night.

He plays in the Major Leagues. Every pitcher gives up well hit balls to the track, as well as balls that end up 20 rows deep in the bleachers.

The announcer said prior to the game that the Reds had a .282 BA against high velocity pitchers so they are one of the better hitting teams when facing high velocity pitchers. And skenes is high velocity. They also showed the top 7-8 pitchers in the league with the highest velocity avg and Skenes was #2 but I believe all the other pitchers were relief pitchers and not starters which makes it even more impressive.
