Again it’s MLB rest without an off day which happens often.
Most MLB clubs use a 5 man rotation, so day 1 and day 6 is your # 1 starter. That’s the situation for skenes here.

If Skenes pitches Thursday he can’t start in the championship.

bullshite. You start him tomorrow and you start him Monday. And both with no pitch count. If Skenes doesn't want it then I absolutely agree, respect his wishes and don't do it. But if he wants it, nobody else should say no-- including Jay. He can throw 130 tomorrow and 130 Monday. We act like we know something about pitch count. We don't. It's all just a guess for appearances sake. Whatever Paul wants to throw in the next 5 days, let him throw.

I feel the team can beat fla without Skenes. Sully literally almost got beat in all of his 3 powder puff games.
