Getting rid of Crowton had a lot to do with it with many people. Should have fired his arse last year!

As long as this thread is, I'm sure this has been said, but I'm not reading the whole thing.
I'm happy to see some delusion in the fanbase again. A fanbase should think their team is capable of winning every game.
The negativity of the last couple of years, along with the infighting among our fans made it hard to be proud to be an LSU fan.
Dinardo brought back the magic simply by having a winning season and going to the weedeater bowl. Saban and Miles made it even stronger, but we got spoiled. We had a couple of non-championship type years and lost the magic. It's ridiculous that it took so little to take it away. When I was in school, I would have loved 8 and 9 win seasons.
The positive things that have happened over the past few weeks have caused a spark of that magic to return. I hope it catches on and spreads like crazy, but I know that the slightest amount of negative could snuff out the magic again.
In case you haven't figured it out, we are the magic. The LSU fanbase can be the greatest anywhere. We have that reputation historically. Unfortunately, we are also extremely fickle and can be the worst fanbase in the world.

I am going to be honest with you, and peopel will likely think I am crazy for saying this, but I don't think we will even miss PP7 at all. Our secondary is nasty and he really didn't make that many plays on D this year from what I noticed. It actually seemed the oposite. People were making plays on him. He was a good kick returner all the way through WV then was average. I think we miss Nevis and KV11 more than anything.

bham, well stated.
You really said and believe that????? Using record as an indicator? That's completely without merit. What do you suggest we use?
Quick, let's get on the phone to the BCS, AP, the NFL, and every other sports entity, make certain they KNOW that records shouldn't matter. If a team wins in the last seconds or gets a "lucky play" then it doesn't count toward their record, and make it a loss. Or let's get rid of W-L records and do it by statistics, and then get a style judge up in the press box to rate the teams. When they finish, about an hour or so after the game, then we inform the fans and the press who is better, and we go from there.
"Relying on a lucky play" yeah, that's the ticket. They go into film study on Sunday and Monday, so they can game plan "lucky plays." I can just hear Coach Miles in team meetings...."OK guys, we have a want of lucky plays. So, inside the 20 yard line, near the end of the game, the QB will decide, then he'll try to bounce his pass off the opposing CB's helmet, and our guy will dive for the ball for a TD. If that fails, well, we're sunk."
"relying on lucky plays....." Ignorant.
Perhaps part of the optimism does stem from a convincing Cotton Bowl win, one in which a number of freshmen contributed a great deal on both offense and defense. Or were they just "lucky?" Seeing your young players make good, solid plays, be effective, on a national stage against a very good ball club says a great deal about the team?

Like I said earlier, if you are going to use record as an indicator as to what to expect next year, you might want to consider how you arrived at that record. There is a difference in winning a game on a two minute drive and relying on a lucky play.

Just clarifying for others that even though you replied to me, that quote was not mine.

All of a sudden, almost everyone is in love with Miles. Many are defending him as if they are defending their first born.
LSU fans on Les Miles--Like dating a bipolar hot red head with PMS?

Since when did being optimistic make you so butt hurt?

P.S. All of this love is over a man who hasn't taken a team entirely composed of his own players to Atlanta for the SEC Title Game.
You talking about Miles or Saban? Nick's done it 3 times...
