Since when did this board become so...

delusional?
All of a sudden, almost everyone is in love with Miles. Many are defending him as if they are defending their first born.
Apparently, most of the delusion centers around the assumption that we are going to win the national title next year.
We lose Peterson, Nevis, and Sheppard on defense. That is one hell of a loss to sustain.
Our offense is returning in tact for the most part. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
We are getting a new offensive coordinator, but much of the substantive talk centers around Gonzales becoming OC, which is worrisome.
What has happened to this board? Was it the Cotton Bowl? I never thought a good bowl win over an average team would cause everyone to become so delusional. I feel like I'm on an Alabama message board.
P.S. All of this love is over a man who hasn't taken a team entirely composed of his own players to Atlanta for the SEC Title Game.

I think it was the Cotton Bowl win, Miles staying, and Crowton going all happening in such a short amount of time.
Has people excited, sometimes along the lines of delusional excitement.

If you can't be optimistic in the offseason then you don't deserve to have the "Geaux Tigers" emoticon as your avatar.

It is easy, really.
Same reason folks went from persecuting him for the 2008 Co_DC decision to praising him for the 2009 Chavis hire.
If Miles gets an ace OC, he will be moving to the direction he should move...to a CEO_recruiting coach.
Miles also has righted the Oline/QB situation.
Miles also has seemed to learn some and delegate some of the time management situation...while not there yet, it is on the right track to some extent.
SO it is not delusion, it is observation of legit change.
Miles is restoring the formula that made 2007 happen, one thing at a time, and outstanding ALL ROUND recruiting is in great shape, leaving us with a powerful and balanced and deep roster.
What's not to understand about all of this easy-to-observe change?
It is a no-brainer to see why folks have changed their opinion of Miles. It really is.

One board really was big enough for all of your foolishness IMHO.

excited yes, delusional no.
LSU is in great shape to make a run, more so than in several years.
I do not bank on a NC, but know it ,at least,is a possiblity. not the feeling of the last three off-seasons.

out of the last 5 national championships i can only thing of 1 coach that has taken a team of entirely his own recruits to the championship and that is maybe Meyers in 08. Although he could have had some RS Sr idk.

Really! I don't about you man, but there is a lot to say about Miles' character through all of this. Good, bad, or indifferent I am with Miles.
I went to the Cotton Bowl and trust me Texas A&M was highly motivated to play us. (Kind of like Ole Miss every year) They were on a streak leading up to this game. And for Miles and LSU to go out there and demoralize that team on the field. It was awesome rolling out the stadium and seeing A&M fans come to the realization that they are not on LSUs level. The win also told me, the man knows how to coach and that he is progressing.

Once again, much of the talk centers around promoting Gonzales.

How? The question centered around the development of the QB position as much as anything. Just because we signed Mettenberger doesn't mean he'll develop.
From all accounts, he's nowhere near the prospect Cam Newton was coming out of JUCO. What makes everyone sure he will see any time anyways?
I doubt he sees any meaningful playing time.

Well, for 2007 to be repeated, we need to win the national title with 2 losses. That's very unlikely.
I agree with recruiting. I've never questioned his recruiting ability. He's the equal of any coach in the country at this aspect.

We have a legit shot at the title next year. It isn't at all delusional.

Her's to you perpetually negative fans.
You know that LSU will never win another game with Les Miles as coach. And if it happens it was because Miles got lucky.
You know who should be playing and of course it is never the ones that actually see the field.
You know what offensive and defensive schemes LSU should be using, but the empty headed professional coaching staff has no clue.
You know more than anyone else because well..you are YOU!

Most people don't hate Miles, as you do. I understand an 11-2 season with a big bowl win going into next season is a very good thing, unlike some f'kin morons.

Just like the Georgia Tech win in 2008?
We lost four games the following season, and we lost to every opponent who had a legitimate chance to beat us.

11-2 season. top 10(maybe top 5) recruting class. Crowton got fired. We return most of our starters and have a young and talented team. Cam newton left for the draft. Theres no dominant team in the SEC next year so it's up for grabs. So basically you just hate Miles and everyone else is excited so STFU

The 2008 team is not comparable to the 2010 team.
We just won 11 games and crushed what might have been the best team in the Big XII. We return 8 starters on offense and 7 on defense.
You can't really get set up for a title run any better than that, really.
