It looks like R. Shepard to come in as QB no. 2 next week for a few plays like Tebow did his freshman year.

We arent even close to any of those numbers... Hey but at least JJ runs a mean option and doenst throw pick sixes right?
Fact is we have no indentity on offense, we look like a gimmik flag football team, oline dont block well, rbs arent runnign well and we arent thorwing well.
We have yet to dominate any team we have played yet.... take a lookt back 10 yrs of our first 3 games... has ANY start to any season looked more unimpressive.?

Tim Tebow:

14-19
115 yards
1 rushing TD
1 INT

Id see if JL could strike a spark for our offense just as saban did with Rohan in 2000.
Thats exactly what I would do.

don't yuo think it is a little premature to compare Lee to Rohan? What has Lee done to warrent that comparison.

It would just be to risky to insert JL into a game at this time in the season. JJ needs the reps and we are not in a position to risk a loss just for an experiment with JL.

Would you really want to put him in against Mississippi St ?

you see, it's not about what's best for the TEAM for bt.

it's about what is best for JL, and how he can be on the field instead of JJ, despite the fact he would get eaten up out there with the way the o-line has been performing.

hopefully Shep starts getting more reps, we are going to need him when we get to the meat of the schedule.

You've seen the extent of what Shepard's role will be this year: Wild Tiger back and 6th WR.

Also, teams could not stack the los as tight w/ JL since downfield passing threat is definitely there.

what are you talking about? Thats all teams did last year was stack the line daring JL to throw the ball. This revisionist history that JL somehow was a dangerous passing threat is comical.

not complaining about his role, just think we need to see more of it as the season progresses.

If we're just going to try Lee out just incase he doesn't suck like last year! Why wouldn't we put Shepard in! Since he didn't suck last year and he can run when lee can't. If Shepard throws well then we wiil be a harder for any defense to stop. If teabow couldn't run would he be that big of a threat. Stafford compared to teebow!!

good point, if we're going to do experiments, lets do experiments with Shepard. Let him throw the ball a little.

JJ is very raw but to me the glaring problem with this team is offensive line.

their performance to date gets a big fat F
The O-line play would look totally different if JJ would take his 3, 5 or 7 step drop and throw the ball on time in rhythm. He tends to hold the ball too long and scramble right into the rush. He does not have very good pocket awareness. A quick release passing offense based on timing would make our O-line look much better and the defense would be forced to take a safety out of the box to help out in the passing game. We have WR's on the outside that can run 40 yards in 4.4 seconds. How long does it take to run a 15 yard post, slant or curl. Those are timing routes thrown off of 3 to 5 step drops and the ball is out in under 4 seconds if thrown correctly. Our O-line is giving that much time and it would get better if we could establish these plays.

The good news is JJ did complete a few of these type of throws last night. He threw a great 15 yard comeback route to TT on the sideline and also thew a nice 10 yard curl to TT. I know many want to blame JJ for the ball almost being a pick 6 but that was TT's fault for not working back to the ball. A WR should never be standing still on a timing route. If TT makes his curl and circles back to the ball he cuts off the DB. When he stopped, he gave the DB a path to cut him off to the ball.

The point is we are doing some things right every game and I'm sure the coaches are pointing this out in the film room. We still have a chance to be a good football team if we keep getting better. I don't think the offense has flowed very well because Crowton has been trying to figure out what we can count on and what we can do well. Hopefully, we can put those things together by the time we play UGA and establish an identity for the season. I have not seen any team on our schedule look so great that we can't beat them if we put together a good game. The best football is still ahead of this team. They will get better.

If you weren't a Jarrett Lee nob-slobber, I think people could take your posts seriously, but we just can't.

I actually agree with much of what you said, but to be honest, you and your obsession for Lee is utterly ridiculous.

This was your post defending lee in May. I guess the same can be said for JJ.

I am not saying that we should pull JJ for Lee, but giving him a drive or two a game isn't a horrible idea. JJ is doing okay, and he's going to struggle. We don't have the advantage Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy had as RS Freshman in an awesome offensive line. We are really weak at OL this year. Thus, I don't expect JJ to put up ridiculous numbers.
