Outside of the Troy game, can anyone remember a game where our guys seemed uninspired/unprepared/not ready to go?

I can't think of one. I think this is an area O doesn't get enough credit (maybe). During Miles era, I was never fully comfortable that the guys would be ready each week. I don't feel this way anymore since O took over. It's a big confidence boost going into games like this.

Just something I've noticed recently. Carry on. (downvote away, probably)

ETA: tigerfan in Bamaland mentioned MSU perfectly legit. So I guess 2018 and 2019 season has been a huge improvement in this area.

Uhhh, one late game mistake lost that game. I wouldn't say our guys were unprepared/uninspired.

It was a hard fought loss in a very tough environment.

I'm not defending Miles, but one of his staples was everyone playing their arse off for him. The uninspired look came more from his 1953 offense. O does always seem to have his guys ready though which is one of your most important jobs as a HC.

I noticed that as well. Just how much more inspired and prepared on a weekly basis the team appears is the biggest change that I notice since the Miles era. Really even from that first game in 2016 team generally just looked so much more organized and prepared. Seemed like a lot of confusion was going on the field and sidelines on game day towards the end of the Miles era.

I guess it could be a perception issue. My point is that every week I feel very/more confident that it won't be an issue vs the Miles era.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm saying. It kind of goes unsaid, but it's actually a pretty big deal.

I mean, the guy punches himself in the face to get the team up. Can't say he doesn't pull out all the stops...

We came out and rammed it up their fricking arse the first drive. Then were doing it again but unfortunately there was a blindside blitz, we fumbled and the game wasn't the same after

Our dline was seriously depleted with lack of depth, injuries and suspensions at the beginning of the season in 2017 as well. Took a little while to get the program rolling again with a few hiccups here and there but at least you could see we were heading in the right direction.

SLU and especially Alabama last year. Thank Goodness for Joe Burrow! O should give the family 10% of his salary his entire tenure at LSU.

That Mississippi State/Troy stretch in 2017 was an abomination. Looked like we were heading straight down the toilet

How do you even measure this? Wins and losses? How the team "looks"?

I don't really agree with that. Miles' teams were never ready for a lesser opponent, especially Arkansas. It was sickening really, the way we played down to everyone.

might have not been in the uninspired example category..But the 2016 game was a huge kick in the nutts...

there really isn't a measurement for inspired, motivated, organized and prepared. In this case there was a stark enough difference to actually see it or "how the team looks"
