It seems to me that Coach Les Miles and this 2010 football team deserve just a little more support, a little more credit and a lot more respect from many so-called Tiger fans.
Is that you Gary?

Lets assume that since we have the facilities, recruiting classes, and resources that Florida has, we can replicate their numbers in the West and the CG.
That would mean that we would win the West 61% of the time, or 11 times in the next 18 years. Now, lets assume we are as successful as they have been in winning the CG (70%), so we should expect 7 SEC Championships over the next 18 years. Let's assume that, like you said, the SEC champion gets in the NC half the time, so we could expect 3-4 NC games in the next 18 years. Assuming the 50% win rate in the NC, we could reasonably expect 1-2 NCs in the next 18 years.
I do not think ANY of those numbers are absurd. Are they very successful? Of course. Are they out of the realm of possibility? Hell no. Should LSU expect those results with a 4M coach's salary? I do not see why not!

Once again, you set ridiculous expectations.
You take the most dominant team in their most dominant period (which even they can no longer replicate), and you EXPECT LSU to do that?
Dude, LSU has never done that. We have 3 national championships in 117 years.
Florida has done it, but will probably never repeat it again.
You have made my point for me.
You desperately need a reality check. Come down to Earth.
LSU has a program today that many schools would love to have. I think Coach Miles will lead us to many more championships, and he deserves respect.

Go back and look at how many MNC have been played since going to the BCS. Now look at how many schools there are in Div.1A. Then calculate our chances of winning just 1 and determine how many times we should have won it thus far.
Now throw that shyt out the window and know that LSU was the 1st and is currently 1 of ONLT 2 schools with 2 BCS titles. Stop trying to seem smarter than you are. This is sports and your calcualtions really have no way of accurately forecasting who will win what and how often they should.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Really?
Miles will lead us to MANY more championships?
Based on the empirical evidence or are you extrapolating the results?

Let me speak very slowly for you....
I - think - Coach - Miles - will - lead - us - to - many - more - championships....
The operative words are "I think," meaning a personal opinion, not a scientific analysis.
Ans yes - many more championships, if he were to become our Bobby Bowden and spend another 15 or so years at LSU, which I think he would like to do.
Championships include division titles, SEC titles and national titles.
Except for one year, Les Miles has kept us competing for titles, even when we have had deficiencies, such as this year.
If he stays here for the long-term, I believe we will win more than our share of titles including maybe even 2 or 3 more BCS Championships.
That is just my personal opinion, but I feel strongly we will always be competitive with the top performers in the SEC, with Miles at the helm.
I hope we can keep him as long as he will stay.
And, oh-by-the-way, all you negaTigers who have already written this season off, what are you gonna say if we happen to win out this year?
And how would you feel if you were an LSU player, reading posts here from all you supposed-fans who have completely given up on this team after one tough loss to a top-5 team on the road?
Think about it, arseholes!

No SEC West Title in the last 3 years. Nothing personal against Miles that's not getting it done. I have no attachment to any coach. It's about winning championships for LSU. If you can't get that done try another coach.

What is your reasoning that LSU cannot do what Florida did? What do they have that LSU does not have or cannot get? Like I said, those results would be fantastic and highly successful. However, to think that LSU cannot or would not produce those results based on 18 years of history, some of which were the worst years in LSU history, is absurd.

I don't like this situation it feels like Deja vu

Not saying LSU can't possibly repeat what FL did.
Just saying that phenomenal championship record was once in a blue moon, and cannot be EXPECTED of any team.
Hell, that record may never be repeated by anybody. How can you possibly assert that record should be EXPECTED of LSU today?
And in 2010, the SEC is way tougher than it was back then, because almost any SEC team today can beat you.
When Florida was in its hey day, it was the dominant team with a lot of weak sisters.
There is too much parity now. Nobody is gonna totally dominate this conference for a long time.
What I have projected for LSU, based upon the actual records of all SEC teams in the last 18 years, would keep LSU and Alabama the two dominant teams in the SEC West.
LSU would be expected to make two SEC CGs every 9 years, and Bama would make about 3. The other 4 teams in the West would split the remaining 4 SEC CG appearances every 9 years.
This is not opinion - this is simply projections based upon past records.
We can hope LSU becomes the most dominant West team in the future. If so, maybe LSU will swap places with Bama and make 3 out of 9 SECCGs.
But based upon the actual record, my projections are what can reasonably be expected. And with the assumptions I stated, we would only expect an SEC Title once every 9 years, a spot in the BCS title game once every 18 years, and a national championship once every 36 years.
That is just math - based upon the actual record.
But that still keeps us one of the two dominant teams in the West, so that is pretty damn good.
It just shows how ridiculous expectations have become for so many delusional Tiger fans today.
Many do not appreciate in the least what this team has accomplished so far, a 7-1 record and an outside shot at another SEC Championship and maybe even another BCS title.
Many have already written off this season as a failure. That is ridiculous! As long as there is a chance champions strive for championships!
And even worse, these idiots refuse to show any respect to the coaches and the players who have achieved this opportunity for LSU.
These immature, fair-weather, delusional, so-called fans are a total disgrace, and they are demoralizing the whole LSU fan base and negatively-impacting the reputation of LSU and its great football program.
I am hoping to wake some of them up with a dose of reality.

Why emulate Florida? They aren't an elite team. That's what the rantards tell me so it must be true.

your vernacular is jacked up.
you don't think that.
you believe that.
there is a difference.
it wouldn't hurt my feelings if your beliefs turned true.
i use my brain to think and reason and based on the empirical evidence i don't think that will happen.
