Preseason polls are like the Spring Game...given a lot of hype, but don't really mean a whole lot!

Performance on the field during the season says it all!

Ole Miss average rank over the past 5 years is around #65. They are loaded with 2 star athletes. There's no damn way they should be ranked in the Top 25, much less the top 10. That's the biggest joke I've ever seen.

IMO 13 is pretty good, given last season, and not knowing how the new coaches will pan out

Over and over they put VT high.

Still not sure where you are getting that VT is hyped up? I have only found one year in the last few that VT has finished below our preseason rank, so some of you people need to start looking up your stats before your spew your misinformation

Notre Dame-----> honestly wtf... how many terrible seasons does it take for SI to stop ranking them in the top 25?

Actually a lot of people i have listened to have said that the irish will have at least a 10 win season. They only have 4 away games this next year against michigan, purdue, pittsburg and stanford. They should only lose 1 maybe 2 of those games, then the only other really tough game they have is USC and maybe boston college. So if they split those games they win 10. Also they have a really experienced offensive line that will only help their QB. I don't think they are going to win it all, but i do think that this will be a much better team from notre dame than we have seen in a few years

That's great!! 2003 we were #13 pre-season poll also, and we know how that finished.

That was the first thing that lit up in my head when I saw the ranking.
