deep down JR doesn't want the phone to ring, and if he simply hangs out in Mobile, it never will.
After reading the article, this is my opinion. He might make another "attempt" at the NFL, but he is content to sit on his money until it runs out.

yep. Jones, Hodson, Mauck, Flynn, Davey.

That is flat out idiotic.

The amount of JR suck ups on this thread is nauseating. He was never good at pre snap reads and, though he could chunk the rock 50 yards on one knee, he always had accuracy problems.

That stat wasn't working in Jordan Hare in 2006.

He completed 57% that game for 269 yards with no turnovers. We averaged 1.8 yards per carry that day but it was all Russell's fault.

JR apparently needed to throw at a 47% completion rate and lose to two unranked teams in triple OT to earn the adulation of LSU fans.

But the truth is, JR was screwed the moment the Raiders drafted him. It may have been the worst orginizaion in sports at the time.

Lee, Flynn, and Mauck couldn't hold the jock of Russell as far as playing in college goes.

This! I'm not old enough for Hodson and Jones but JR is the best LSU QB I've watched.

It wasn't a passing league back then.

Hodson completed 674 of 1,163 tries (a 57.9 percent accuracy rate) and made 69 touchdowns.

that's 290 attempts per year on average.

russell in 2006 threw only 50 more times in 13 games (342 attempts for 67.8%)

Hodson played 2 less games on average back then as well.

so you see, your point is dumb and wrong.

I am not a JR hater by any means, he was great while at LSU, but this is a laying it on IMO. There are several LSU QBs I would put ahead of him.

he is in my top three, for sure.

Whatever happens after they leave I really don't follow, don't care too much. His story is a bit sad though since he was a mega talent. Sounds like he has plenty of excuses for why he failed though. Really hate to see that and it's certainly indicative of why he failed.

Doesn't change what he was at LSU though, which was awesome.

And 0 touchdowns. Epic fail. Greatest LSU QB? He was awesome in that 2006 Chick-fil-A beat down of Miami, right? Right? Only about 90% of all football fans would probably agree that JR was an over-rated, over-hyped average QB talent with a circus freak arm. Of course, that doesn't include those wearing the P&G glasses and the Gold Domers that JR lit up very well in the Sugar.

Most of those people didn't watch LSU in 2006. And most of those people would be idiots to begin with.

LSU did a terrible job of running the ball against Auburn, averaging less than 2 ypc. He accounted for almost all of the offense. WTF did you expect of him?

We ran for 230 more yards that game than we did against Auburn.

Neither held a candle to JR while at LSU. Yes, they won titles. JR was still the better QB.

One of the most idiotic things I've seen in a Russell debate.

He has average talent...haha

JR wasn't a runner, brah. That I can assure you of. Check your facts.
