Bring in the bull dozer. Let's turn this place into a parking lot.

a new arena =/= to the changes that need to be made to improve the basketball team. look at what auburn has done. they are more of an embarrassment than lsu is and just built a brand new stadium. florida has a pretty below par facility, yet they have a great program. hell, cameron indoor is no more impressive that the PMAC. people just need to realize we have never and will never have a consistently good basketball program unless we luck out with a coach like florida did with billy donovan. lsu is a football school and i'm fine with that. there are very few schools that compete on the level lsu does in football and also have the basketball program to match. i can think of ohio state, florida, and maybe Texas. it's just the way it is.

Nothing. People just need something to complain about.

Problem is not the PMAC

+1000

Facilities don't win ball games, coaches and players do. Right now LSU doesn't have the talent to win, so therefore, they aren't going too. Putting this team in an arena like Rupp or Thompson Boling wouldn't matter. Seeing 5,000 people in a 24,000 arena would look sad. So stop saying the PMAC is the problem. That should be the last thing on LSU's minds. If TJ can bring in the players and WIN some games, the fans will come out and support them.

The Pmac is better than the cajun dome. Might be time for some additions/renovations could jump start attendance people may go just to see the face lift.

Tangent question.
Haven't been to the PMAC in a looooooooooooong time.
Is there a statue, plaque or something commemorating Pete Maravich?

NO/thread.

I don't have time to list all the reasons against this idea.

Well one reason....architecturally it is still a visually appealing building. TAF can trick it out if they want.

The only thing the PMAC is missing is some exciting basketball.

Please elaborate on the virtues of that location for a parking garage vis-a-vis its current use as an athletic venue

They should have renovated the Cox building instead of building the spaceship.

Meh. I love the spaceship. I saw some awesome basketball games there and concerts. I think it's cool looking.

But there really is nothing wrong with the PMAC. Your basic premise is that spending will create prosperity, that is not an absolute.

Let's try it this way....Tell us what is wrong with the PMAC and how that translates to a lack of success within the basketball program.

Apparently, there was nothing wrong with the PMAC TJ's first year.
