Should penalties be reviewable?

Obviously this could affect the length of the game, but should all penalties be reviewable/challengeable?
They review targeting penalties to determine if the player should be ejected from the game or not and whether it was targeting.
What about PI calls, late hit calls, illegal formation calls? These can all have a huge impact on the outcome of the game and refs make mistakes on these calls all the time.
Not that it changed the outcome of the game, but the late hit call on Jones is one example where there could be a reversal of the penalty.

Myth.
Allow everything to be reviewable but only allow the same number of coaches challenges and the game won't be extended at all.
Bill Belicheck has been knighting for this for years

I think any automatic first down penalty should be reviewable. It's not practical time wise though. Maybe 4th qtr only?

Give the coaches one more challenge flag and let everything be reviewable.

Actually not a myth since, unlike the nfl, every play in college is reviewed. So while in the nfl coaches only have 2 challenges, there could be an unlimited amount of reviews of penalties in a college game

This is my wish/belief of how it should all be done.
Every single play is reviewed by the officials upstairs. If they see a bad call, they press a button and that lets the officials on the field know to stop play because something is being reversed.
NOT something is being reviewed but reversed.
So play is NEVER interrupter unless something is being reversed.
Whenever the booth decides a play is called wrong but the next play has already started... too bad. That generally means it was very close call and not a horrid call.
It is WRONG for an offense to line up and snap the ball only to have the play blown dead like it never happened so they can review something. That is affecting the play of the game. That is giving the d time to rest. That is screwing up your offensive play calling because you just showed the defense your number one play in that situation and now you have to run your second best play. The disruption of halting play needs to go!

I think penalties should go to review for things like facemask or the pop pass or lining up on scrimmage/illegal motions on offense or defense enticing olineman to move. I wouldn't want pass int/holding to go to review, then you allow the SEC officials to really influence games.

as many times as these crews miss calls...absolutely

The problem is there's no accountability. On the rare occasion that a league office reviews a call and admits it was blown, nothing happens as a result. "Oh, our bad! You lost on a blown call. Oh well."
Coaches are limited on challenges. Too bad refs aren't limited on number of flags they can throw during a game.
When the discrepancy is as big as it was for the Syracuse game, they're obviously not calling it evenly.

If the spot of the football can be reviewed, penalties should be reviewable as well. At least PI and personal fouls.

Ridiculous statement. Every team would immediately do whatever it takes to reach the limit in the 1st minutes of the game, and then it would be a total free for all the rest of the game.

disruption of play? I was at the auburn game, players stand around longer than they actually play with all the TV time outs. That's what disrupts the flow of games.

Why? I wasn't complaining or even specifically referencing this game. Just an observation over the past few years where, both in the NFL and Collegiate level, penalties that aren't reviewable have affected the outcome of games.
It seems like a perfectly reasonable conversation to have.

No but the refs should be held accountable for bad calls. If they make bad calls they should be suspended and they continue to make bad calls fire them. I am amazed at how bad the SEC officials are. It's not just LSU that gets bad calls it's every team. The coaches need their own committee to review the Refs.
Stop calling penalties that have nothing to do with the play. As long as neither side gains an advantage pick the flag up. I know this would be hard to do but the tick tack calls have ruined the flow of the game.

I know the announcers of every college football game shown on television always say that every play is reviewed, but I have a hard time believing it.

No. Do away with review altogether.
