We don't need to pay him more because Texas and OU are stupid.
Posted on 11/6/12 at 2:05 pm to Draconian Sanctions
No. I am not a Les hater, but he has not done anything to warrant an increase in his salary this year.

I would keep Les's salary the same unless he wins a NC, then pay him 1$ more than the highest paid coach

Next championship, yes.

my gut reaction is no but it depends on what you are paying him for. if you are paying him to win a NC or at least a sec title combined with bcs bowl win then no. if you are paying him based on the financial prosperity of the football program and the potential in the future then probably yes.
are you paying him to win games or are you paying hhim to make money for LSU.

Absolutely. He's easily the second best coach in the country and deserves to be paid that way

No way. Already over paid and the buyout is ridiculous.
+1,000!
He's already stealing from LSU. He hasn't earned 4M a year, don't give his Yankee arse any more money!

I agree. We've played exactly one game this season where we lived up to our potential. Why should that warrant a pay raise? Until he wins the SEC again, he really doesn't have much bargaining power, because nobody is interested in stealing him from us.

Message Posted by The312 We currrently have no chance to win the SEC West, the SEC, or the national title. Why, exactly, would this season merit a raise from his already substantial salary?
This. Just one West division title the past 5 seasons and just one BCS bowl in which we were dominated. He's a good coach and I like him but we are firmly entrenched as Bama's bitch. We happen play Bama much closer than anyone else but in the end we've nothing to show for it and aren't as consistent.

Didn't he finalize an extension just over a year ago?
