1. They're co-workers, sort of. I would imagine they have the opportunity to talk to each other every few days at the least.
2. Football and Baseball are completely different, and so is recruiting. LSU is definitely in the upper echelon of overall football programs, but when it comes to baseball, they're at the top.
3.Never worry about commitments in football, because they rarely mean anything anymore, and it's definitely not worth worrying about recruiting until November.

Maybe Jay came and talked to Brian Kelly. You do realize (maybe you don’t) that Jay Johnson is using the Portal to rebuild his team. Just like Brian Kelly did with 3 or 4 assistant coaches. Some of you just seem to want to jump on Brian Kelly’s back and the man has done a Hell of a job since he arrived at LSU.

And LSU can likely afford it but they are probably asking if they can afford it year in and year out.
Woodward has spent so much money on new staff and his previous mistakes that it’s harder than you think to get the same core group to keep writing checks.
LSU simply doesn’t have the resources of Texas A&M, Texas or Alabama with Saban at the helm. When Saban leaves Bama collapses again.

What ‘previous mistakes’ are you referring to? Why would those “writing the checks” become reluctant now when so far every new hire is killing it and proving to be a good investment…
CMM is somehow signing transfers and convincing kids to come play basketball here despite everyone knowing that a postseason ban is all but inevitable for MBB… CJJ is looking like the next Skip Bertman, CKM is doing Mulkey things and will have a ‘ship in the very near future. CBK has been impressive and will have a lot of success here soon. I mean it’s been a while since this much optimism and excitement has surrounded damn near every sport.

I think NIL is getting way to much credit than it deserves. Imo, NIL will be more of a detriment than a “resource”. Think about it, who would you rather have on your team… a 3/4* kid that works his arse off every day trying to become the best he can be so that he can one day get a big NIL deal or 1st round signing bonus… or a kid that no longer works his arse off every day and has become complacent, entitled, and lazy bc he already got paid a big NiL deal, which essentially reassured him that he was already good enough and didn’t need to get better…
NiL and paying kids before they even have to do any kind of work to prove themselves, is going to backfire for a lot of teams.

CJJ’s not using only the portal, he’s using the portal and a no.1 top recruiting class to strengthen an already good core group of players.

But if a kid is gets a big NiL deal, and payday, imo I feel like it diminishes a little of the appeal of the NFL. Or idk if that’s the right way to word what I mean… but like getting paid one day is pretty much the ultimate goal and motivation for these players to be the best they can be, and continue to always work hard, right? So if teams keep paying some of these big amounts weve seen/heard, before a recruit even proves himself (I.e. getting a deal before even playing a snap, just to get him to your school) why would they feel the hunger still to keep working so hard? You know what I mean?

I know what you're saying, but its not life changing. Or at least not enough to sustain them for the rest of their life when they are only 18.
If they are smart, and I know many are not and need guidance, then they shouldn't rest on their laurels because they got an NIL deal.
