Every loss has to be blamed on something besides the team. Last night it was the umpires and tonight it’s the playing turf. Tomorrow the weather will blamed. There are ridiculous excuses on here in every LSU sport for LSU losses.

And these guys grew up playing 100 games a year on it.

Next excuse.

Who did, specifically?

While we’re at it I’m not happy with the neon color of first base. They need to regulate the hue.

Whichever players played travel ball tournaments.

Can’t be many of those on LSU team though I guess.

Somewhat change of subject here as both teams have to play on the same field, but are there a lot of amateur fields with turf mounds? I never did the travel ball thing and as a dad with two girls didn't see a lot of little league, babe ruth league fields. I did see a few that had dirt mounds and turf elsewhere but not many with a turf mound?

It would seem a turf surface as opposed to a clay and dirt surface where you can manipulate the depression of your landing area as well as the depression in front of the rubber could be pretty drastic for a pitcher.

Certainly not blaming an 11-3 beatdown on this shite, but I could see it really fricking with the head of struggling pitcher.

Most of the multi field complexes where travel ball tourneys are held now are all turf, mounds included.

Enables tourney admin to churn and burn games with no field maintenance in between.

Also, in the Lake Charles area alone, there are at least seven fields where high school ball is played that have turf mounds, with an eighth coming soon.

It is an advantage if you play more games on it than other teams. You learn the idiosyncrasies of playing on it.

The turf ain’t the problem.

The turf and 360 foot fences have hurt LSU multiple times this weekend.

Thanks, I had no idea it was that prevalent.
