some HS coaches possibly... no clue.

I just think you can either evaluate and recruit or you can't. Having ties to the state in this case doesn't mean much IMO when guys cross states lines so easily in basketball.

ETA: and what did Illinois offer?

Better support. Better conference. Very good recruiting area. Offered shaka a hell of a lot of money. And he still turned them down.

there just has to be some reason to go after JJ if they are. Its not just because of his great success at UNT obviously. They've been pretty mediocre.

Any time Crowley High gets any sort of organization they are really good.

But Butler has far better fan support than LSU and has for quite some time.

Because our team sucks. LSU has way better fan support when they are winning. Butler is not a better job then LSU. and again a lot more money, recruits, facilities and about everything else you can think of.

John Brady was head coach at Crowley High School prior to his college career.

Ok. Doesn't change my mind. Like I said, anyone would have gotten those kids to sign. Don't think LA ties is a prerequisite for coaching at LSU.

People always say this but I don't remember this really being the case. The fan support, even when we were good, was never that impressive.

I remember when the basketball team was bigger then the football team. Curly years.

I knew you were going to bring back Dale Brown like this was yesterday and relevant today.

Rumored to be $2.5 million. More than twice what he made at VCU this year.

Which I don't understand but that's the only thing that would make sense. Not sure why a guy that should be at St. James place is determining anything with the basketball team or a guy that plays golf five times a week and works for Brec from time to time.

If Jones is hired I agree with you. Why are we so concerned with placating these power grabbers that just want to feel important more than they want the team to succeed?

The fact that Dale Brown could have this much pull 15 years since he left is incredibly obnoxious.
