Will Krag be able to get Shep into the NFL? He came in with a lot of hype and up to this point he hasnt really been used.

if he has the same production in his last 2 years as he had in his first 2, then the answer is NO

He'll have to get more consistent. Hope he does too. He will get more opportunities next year, as will all our receivers. I'm definitely looking forward to it

Do most players progress as they become upperclassmen. Seems alot of folks had alot of expectation for an underclassman on an awful offense.

LSU needs to utilize him much like the Eagles do with DeSean Jackson.

In his defense, he really hasn't had an adequate quarterback or offensive coordinator while he has been at LSU. I think Chip Kelly could work wonders with him. Would love to have seen him at Oregon.

doesn't he have like 2 years left? Do you know how many good players don't even start until their junior years?

The rant's knowledge is incredible. As if we've never seen a kid blow up from his Junior to Senior year. If anything, this is about the time when you see the majority of players mature the most in college...

The kid is super athletic and his attitude certainly won't keep him from being a great player. Easily one of the most liked guys on the team...

RS is a rare breed in that he is a all world talent and has a unselfish attitude. He will be a great player, mark it down.

Per Rivals, 5* are not supposed to wait until the Junior/Senior year to contribute. They are supposed to be immediate contributors/game changers. Tiger fans should be mad at rivals/scout/etc, not RS.

You just compared your best receiver to Sheps stats by percentage of offensive production in another thread and shep had more than Cobi for both 09 and 10 and now you're saying that Shep is a bust? Is Cobi not an immediate contributor/ game changer?

No he isn't.

My turn: Was Cobi Hamilton a 5*?

My point was that RS is more of a 3-4* than a 5*.

He is a good player, but will never be elite consistently (a neither will Cobi Hamilton, i just use him for comparison)

Then I guess we disagree. I can live with that. I think Shep is. He contributed to a great proportion of our offense, and I haven't seen proof of any one else with the exception of TR that contributed more to their team's offense out of that class.

I've never really understood why they try to build him into the core playbook as much as they do...it seems like everything is based around him and he hasnt been that effective as a whole...but I hope his stock goes up in the near future.

False.

His production is actually better than Early Doucet's was at this point. Another 5* QB turned wideout.

You could make the argument that Early was competing against better WR's for touches, but Jamarcus wasn't throwing at his ankles either so that's probably a wash.

Shep has plenty of time to impress scouts. He has nothing to worry about. Half of all 5* kids get drafted anyway.

I really hope he has a breakout season in 2011. Great attitude, speedy, needs to find traction on the ground when he takes off or cuts; needs to find his hands. Not like I'm a coach or anything; just based on what I've seen happening when he's in the play. I like the guy and really want him to succeed wildly.

Shep was a 5* QB coming out, NOT WR!!! Look at James Wilder, A 5* at LB, but more like 3-4* RB.
